    I've always continued to use the old Adsense script for adding ads. So I decided to attempt to switch to the new Adsense script but it doesnt work for me.

    Here's the problem.. http://www.upcoming-movies.org/ Look at the ad to the right. It doesn't show. Why is this??

    Nice site. Your right, I dont see any ad at all. What do you mean by using a new or old adsense script?

    Here's the two examples

    Newer script:
    <script type="text/javascript"><!--
    google_ad_client = "pub-724223942040626";
    /* 728x90, created 7/9/08 */
    google_ad_slot = "4480490202";
    google_ad_width = 728;
    google_ad_height = 90;
    //-->
    </script>
    <script type="text/javascript"
    src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">
    </script>

    Old Adsense script

    <script type="text/javascript"><!--
    google_ad_client = "pub-7242253987040626";
    google_ad_width = 250;
    google_ad_height = 250;
    google_ad_format = "250x250_as";
    google_ad_type = "text";
    google_ad_channel = "";
    google_color_border = "FFFFFF";
    google_color_bg = "FFFFFF";
    google_color_link = "0066CC";
    google_color_text = "000000";
    google_color_url = "FFFFFF";
    //-->
    </script>
    <script type="text/javascript"
    src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">
    </script>

    Also, I changed the ad on the site back to the old script so that it works. But I would still like to know why the new script doesnt work for me.

    Both of your scripts that your showing have different pub id's.

    I understand your question now, but im not sure myself why thats the case...hmm...are you sure you put the script in correctly?

    The adsense advert is showing for me? Did you leave it like 10 minutes to see if it worked?

    There's a small rectangle Google Ad there now.:)

    i see adsense ads on the right sidebar as well as on the bottom. looks like you have some template allignment issue for which the sidebar is not being displayed properly and you have to scroll down all the way to the bottom to vew it

    You should wait for 10 minutes maximum before the ads will come out. It's written there in the page right after you setup a new ad.

    Dondon2d is right. It can take several minutes for an add to start showing up!

    It is happening on my site too. Sometimes Google doesn't show any ad. I think there is a bug in the new code and sometimes when you view your own ad it doesn't show although other visitors might be seeing it. Happens all the time on my site.

    Yup, I notice this on one of my sites to.

    Just refresh the page a couple of times and it's fixed and you see it. I'm sure Google have done that for a reason but as long as others can see it, it's ok. :)

    I do not like the new ad code as well. The link unit on one of my site does not show the correct colors no matter how many times I changed it on the adsense site... I gave up :)

    From what I've seen with the colors, if you select anything other than the ones they show in their selection chart, it gets changed to one of those colors anyway.
