How much search engine traffic per article do you get?

Different websites get different amount of traffic from search engines. But it will be interesting to note how much traffic you get per article per month. This will give an idea what to expect.

My technology blog has about 370 post and it gets about 13000 visitors from search engines. So that's about only 35 per article. Poor. Though the majority of traffic is due to a handful of articles.

What's yours? Please mention the website's category.

I have some articles online in specific destination tourism and travel the amount of traffic I get is alot less than you mention above per article. Articles or even blog posts should be targetted at keyword niches, find something people are searching for and there is limited or poor info online and target that.

    Hi,

I only have about 4 articles on Ezine and 5 on GoArticles, but I see very low percentage return (something like a click per 30 visits), even though the link-back is relevant to the article content.

It's a numbers game though. That small percentage would look great if I had the time to multiply my article count by 100 ;)

I don't see many traffic from articles in article directories but I think the keywords in article used as anchor text help in terms of SERP's

The obscene profitability of search advertising has made many search sites offer a broad variety of non-search services as loss-leaders to drive traffic to their search pages.

35 visits per article is good?? But some people say they get 90% of traffic from search engines. So they must be doing VERY good. I wonder how many articles they have on their site.

I have written over 500 high quality articles and use ezine article and go articles as well as my own site. Don't both with any other article directories. In terms of the best articles, I find HOW to guides very effective

    depend on 2 factors
    1- where submit your article?
2- the quality of your article

I think some here are confusing things.
The initial post talks about how much traffic an article on your site
is getting not the articles you have posted on articles directories.

You can only get traffic from article if more people will like the content of it but basically it's only few.
