SU traffic is junk. It only increases your bandwidth costs.

I think Google consider SU as a PTC site. PTC sites forces users to navigate in iFrames to keep their control options in another iFrame on the top. And also StumpleUpon uses the same technique. I think this maybe the reason.

How can SU get you banned?? As a site owner, you have no control over whether or not someone stumbles your site or a page?

None of us know what is wrong and right about this issue. we just know that SU could result in getting your account disabled or at least smart pricing it. SU traffic really SUCKS ... Nothing else to say!

    You got 2 things right:

1- SU may lead to smart pricing due to poor performance on advertisers' end.

2- SU traffic sucks at converting.

    :)

    Nonsense.

StumbleUpOn has hundreds of thousands of sites that contain Adsense ads, and they are not banned. Besides, there is nothing you can do to prevent someone from "stumbling" your site.

Anyone can stumbleupon your web even though you don't have ST button on your site. But ST visitors seem don't want to click on ads because they're just st and leave to another site

there is no way to stop this and it's concerning that google would do that, but how can you stop stumble visitors from going to your pages?

Hi did not get banned just because of the SU traffic. As others said, there is no control over the SU traffic. If this was the case, then any site could be taken out of business by simply ordering one of the SU submission packages.

There must have been some other reasons for the ban. Your friend must have broken one or more of the AdSense TOS. I am not saying that he did it on purpose, all I am saying that there was a reason for the ban and it was not the traffic from SU.

I'm not sure SU would cause any problem because it is beyond our control. If it is true, it would be a sin (to Adsense account) that your site is popular (with too many links from SU) and there is a need to plea to your visitors not to SU your site like "Please don't SU if you love this site."

I have had several sites that got some significant periodic traffic from SU and were running AdSense but never had any problems (or emails like your friend) from Google.

Like most people are saying, there is no way you could get banned for this.

If Google was banning sites for this I could just go on all my competitors sites and stumble them!

They surely wouldn't ban you for something that is out of your control, surely.

Stumbleupon never cause banning from adsense. Please check you might have participated in free traffic sources- Paid to surf, etc.

This thread makes me nervous. I have never stumbled myself, but I just went and checked my SU traffic, and there is quite a bit. It ranks #2 in my "Links from an external page" report from AW Stats.

Would I be better off, if I got no stumbles? But I can't do anything about it, except make my pages lousy. That is not something I would do on purpose.

So, I guess I just have to take whatever I get. It would be a shame to be penalized for this traffic. My EPC is going down, that's for sure.
