well, 1000 forum post with sig will not actually gove you 1000 backlinks. it all depends on how many of them search engine bots follow. most of the posts dont stay up on the front page for any longer than few hours which is not always enough for google bot and other search engine bots to crawl and follow the links. even if you post on a forum for a full year, yuo will be lucky if you get few hundred backlinks.

try other methods of link building at the same time. for example: free directory submission, social bookmarking, relevant dofollow blog commenting, article submission, press release, etc

 

write 1000 article in free article directory

 

I think most article directories allow 3 links per article, so that's 334 articles needs for 1,000 backlinks.

Though if they are popular articles you shouldn't need that many since they'll be copied on other sites.

To the OP why did you choose 1,000 backlinks as the number you want?

The actual number is far less important than the quality of the links, would rather have one PR7 links from a page with a few number of links from it than 1,000 PR0 links.

I know someone who made a logo (wasn't anything special either) for a popular open source software site and they linked back to his site from a high PR page (PR7 or PR8, I forget) and he had a PR7 home page for as long as PR has existed. Been a while since I spoke to him, but last time he was getting over 10,000 unique visitors a day and the biggest part of it was due to that one link (gave so much link benefit).

Quality over quantity every time.
