Hey gang, i am thinking to open a free sms business, i did some research and seems from what i have read its profitable and fast growing one? what you think of it? do you have any past experience? Note that i have a catchy domain name can be used here FreeSMS (.) ws Appreciate your comments.
normally you provide a free credit, later users need to fill forms, PPS, etc.. and here you make your profit from those companies.
ah right there are many just free company's one good example is onebip.com who i have a business account with
Eh, market is saturated unless you think of an entirely new feature that others dont have. Why would one person stay at your site & text for free but have to fill out surveys and whatnot to be able to text when they can just google "free sms online" and return with a list of 500 sites that don't require surveys and whatnot and are free?
are you referring to web-only sms by email? or are you considering getting a short code? regarding the domain freesms . ws --- great keywords for your use. i suggest using a domain that you can get a matching short code for though, usually 5 letters in length.
As said the market is quite saturated but if you've really some innovative idea I would suggest to go for .mobi tld.
Actually it is profitable, otherwise there will not be free sms sites popping up every second. atrochatro 160by2 are examples.
Yes I am personally using 160by2.com, smsgupshup.com and way2sms.com to send FREE personal and business SMS to my clients all over India. From all 160 characters, they give you 80 character to put your message and for remaining 80 character they place their sponsor ads below your message its really a nice idea and almost all my friends are using it now. So these sites are getting lot of users and sponsors are getting an opportunity to show ads to you and even to your friends and clients
Short codes aren't cheap... Might need up front money to help out and get you on your feet. Profitable, very much so. Just have a business plan in place and execute accordingly.
we acquired a short code and have gotten carrier approval finally. it is a cost intensive buildout and nothing happens overnight. we also invested heavily to make sure that we had the .com to go with the short code (they match). $1000 per month fee no matter what + message credits/gateway fees and other admin and hardware fees & you will not go live overnight. it will be high $xx,xxx - low $xxx, xxx before you do your first bit of marketing. good luck!
hi, yeah there are loads of free sms companies already, just out of interest how would you make your money exactly? is it through selling advertising?
