    Hi,

Recently I came across blackhat marketing ...
Not really sure what is it.
Anyone using Blackhat marketing methods to promote clickbank?

There is blackhat SEO, but I haven't heard of blackhat marketing. I won't go for it. In the long run, a blackhat method will work against us.

There are plenty of those you can find on various forums. Pretty much all of them would lead to your accounts banned and payments frozen.

Don't mess around with Cookie stuffing and Clickbank. I've had a number of chats/run-ins with Clickbank over this. They will catch you!

As powerful as it is it's not really worth it in the long run. It's not a tool I use with Clickbank products at all.

You will definitely earn with Cookie stuffing. Only problem is that once you are caught Clickbank is going to be monitoring your account. Be careful....

Interesting timing - I just wrote a blog post about an interesting scenario I just went through re my PW product getting jacked and shared on a BH forum that I belong to... click my blog it's a good read :)

As previous posters have stated though - I wouldn't bother with BH, you'll get yourself tossed out of CB before you can setup your first real attack. You learn through trial and error, and learning bh through trial and error is playing with fire. Cookie stuffing, auto-posting, generating fake views, fake obfuscated traffic to hide your stuffing, proxies, mass mailing, htaccess mods, alexa/youtibe/ezine influence, cloaking cloaks that are stuffed, stuffing 10000's of cookies at once, installing invisible cookie manipulators, auto-account creation, auto-commenting/blogging, auto spider detections/edits, creating fake cpa leads/doing them yourself, acquiring stolen credit card #'s, jacking peoples identities, the blackhat environment is quite extensive and ranges from getting your CB account banned to serving jail time.

There is lots of proof of punished bh soldiers, though I'm sure there are many others that get away with it. The one thing most don't realize is that it's quite difficult to create substantial amounts of money long term with any hat, however wearing a bh marketing hat makes it even harder and can be even less rewarding...

You truly don't need bh, marketing is marketing, however just being aware of what bh is, makes you a much deadlier white hat.

    Best,
    NC.

Cookie Stuffing is Stealing commissions of other affiliates and it's your best road to get banned from all networks faster than you receive first check.

    Any BH gurus around?
Care to share something, like how much you've made wearing BH?
    Any success stories?

It's very interesting to see all different ways of marketing.

    auto-posting... this is BH?
What do you mean here ...."alexa/youtibe/ezine influence"
I have never heard of this and how would it be directed toward CB?
    "auto-commenting/blogging"

So many things I have not heard of.

I think what he's trying to say is that if it is shady, you shouldn't do it because it'll come around and nip you in the butt.

You have to remember that this is a business and we're not here to cheat it. Everyone that cheats it, hurts all the legit affiliates out there that are doing in the good way.

cookie stuffing pisses me off. i make a point of contacting clickbank whenever I see an affiliate cookie stuffing. You are stealing other affiliates commissions when you do cookie stuffing, it's completely unacceptable. Sadly some of the people who work for clickbank don't even seem to understand what cookie stuffing is - but I do my best to educate them.

I'm posting about this because I'm currently having a cookie stuffer who is stealing affiliate commissions for my product (if you are reading this, take your ad down, now.) This is uncool - other affiliates who have worked hard to convince the customer to buy the product get their ID overwritten by this worthless page that the customer undoubtedly quickly clicks BACK on and then goes to the official site. But yes... the cookie stuffer has their cookie in now and the affiliate who did the real work has theirs erased.

I just don't see how anyone can think that's acceptable.

How could this happen to me? What do people do to cookie stuff? How do you prevent it? Would they need access to your server to cookie stuff?

hornetss - there's nothing you can do about it (except complain to Clickbank/Google which I encourage you to do.)

Let me explain how it works: Let's say write an article for my product (I encourage you to do this too!) and it links to your review landing page which of course links to my product page. Let's say a visitor finds your article then goes to your landing page and then clicks on your link and goes to my product page. Your cookie is now in their computer. Let's say they are pretty convinced to buy but just don't quite do it yet.

The next day the visitor searches for the name of the product on Google. This cookie stuffer has an ad up at the top of Google for my brand name and it says something like "Don't Buy Until You Read .. blah blah blah" - The visitor clicks on this ad and sees there's really nothing interesting there (there's not) and then clicks BACK. Even though the visitor didn't actually click on a link on the page - the visitor has had a cookie stuffed. They then find the page naturally or go to it directly to it and they buy the product. Even though it was you who convinced the visitor to buy - it's the cookie stuffer who gets credit.

Now don't get me wrong - there's nothing wrong with bidding on the brand name or whatever (that's a basic part of CB marketing) - I just take exception to the SHORT CUT of cookie stuffing which allows them to "steal" the cookie even without getting the visitor to click through on the link. That's part of the hard work of being an affiliate - convincing the visitor to click through on the link - if you bypass that, then you are cheating. Robbing the affiliates who play fair (and also the publisher to some extent.)

I always wondered what a cookie was. So when I see something that says 30 day cookie trail that means that if some one goes to my page if i had one! an doesn't buy the product but return to that page a few days later they no its me? how does it know?

st3vo - Clickbank has 60 day cookies (I think - someone correct me if I'm wrong on that) so that means if you get a cookie onto a visitors computer - and they buy the product within 60 days you get credit IF that person doesn't get another affiliate cookie on their computer in the meantime (by visiting another affiliates landing page.) Basically: Last Cookie Wins.
