I'm using SEO elite to verify that my link partners are still linking back. In one situation I see my link isn't found. I'm guessing this person has robots disabled somehow but i'm not savy enough to check. Does that mean I'm not getting the benefit of them linking to me? the link is located at... http://www.askbusiness.us/business-resources with Medical Billing Service as the anchor.
Also I see that their PR is rated at zero on this page link page. Do I get the benefit of their homepage/domain or the page that my link is found on? Thanks!
You only get PR benefit of the page linking to you. Link exchanges are pretty much worthless with google these days. They aren't natural links.
You need to learn the basics of SEO for you to know that linkbacks doesnt give much value. Moreover, your linkback partner might be just cheating by using no-follow for its PR juicing in your link. Better invest in strategic SEO and go with one way links
But you get traffic from good linkpartners on some sites that i have i have good linkpartners so about 20% of the visitors are from my linkpartners so i fink this is olso really nice .They olways know your seo get high in the search engines , google dont like it google dont give good points when you make a linkexchange but ho give a .. about this when you get good ang many visitors from your linkpartners . And on some keywoords you can get be in the top 10 it take to long for this on the long run you can but you need in this time oslo visitor to your site . So my tip is invest time in good linkpartners ( or they give you visitors or the give your a backlink ) And most important avery backlink counts. And have a look give the site where you talking about visitors to your website so yes dont invest your time if no invest your time if the backlink is good fore the search google .And contact the webmaster from the website that you cant find your link
He doesn't have a robots.txt file set up so WordPress has "created" one for him that's not doing a bit of good. If you want the link to show up, tell him he needs to create an actual robots.txt file and upload it to his root directory. If he doesn't know how, have him contact me and I'll make sure it's not only set up properly but also to ensure that WordPress recognizes it and ditches the fake one.
Return links have limited value these days, though if you get traffic from the other links I think it is still worth doing this with other sites. Be sure though to request your links are in good spots also not just hidden 3 or 4 levels down in some obscure page.
If the link back to you says "No Follow" when you check the source code, then you won't be benefiting from it. Also you only receive PR from that specific page you link to not the site. It's a common occurrance for people to want a link from a PR 4 site, thinking that this will help them. But in actual fact the link may be on a designated links page with a PR of 0
PR will only pass thru your site on the actual page of your link partner (where your link was placed)
For starters, move the sitemap directive to the end of the robots.txt file. I'll have to look at your site in more detail to tell you what else needs to be done.
I thought it already was? Sitemap: http://www.quickonlinetips.com/sitemap.xml User-agent: * Disallow: Isn't the User-Agent and Disallow line needed for the Sitemap line to work correctly?
Ok so just have Sitemap: http://www.quickonlinetips.com/sitemap.xml at the end of the robot.txt and thats it?
As far as formatting goes, yes. I'll have an in-depth look when I'm done with my work for the day though (either that or first thing in the morning if I get done around the time I normally go to bed).
