How many GB of space, transfer do you need? On Linux platform, yes? How many people online at the same time on your forum? Any prefererd control panel?

According to bluehost I currently use around 150gb of bandwidth/month, and there are usually around 20-70 people online at once. A simple to use control panel is preferre.d if you are familiar with bluehost I have had no problems with the control panel they have.

You might need at least 256MB RAM if you go with VPS. However, with that statistics, I believe you are still fine with a good vendor, especially with clustering hosting vendors. Remember bluehost limits CPU, RAM to host more accounts on the same hardware.

I'm using SliceHost for more than a year now and very satisfied with their performance. They are not offering managed VPSs though, if that is what you are looking for.

It would seem that bluehost provides unlimited bandwidth/transfer.

How is 150GB a month anywhere near comparable to the limit of infinite?

you don't need a VPS for that. look around for a medium sized host that doesn't oversell and you should be fine.

I'm having the same problem with bluehost, I get the cpu exceeded errors all the time on ltr450hq.com. So yesterday I deleted 20,000 old posts and did some my sql queries and some other things, everything is good so far.

But the thing is your forum has a lot more users on at one time than mine, mine gets about 20-30 during the day, and about 20 guests. So I'm not sure whys yours hasn't completely crapped out yet haha.

Is media temples grid service any good, or should I just go for a vps? Is it possible to host 3 different sites on one vps or no?
