This is my first time trying to sell ads space for my site (it was ads-free before). The ads-space is a leaderboard size on top of each page, right below the navigation panel. That's probably the best location to be viewed by anyone. Here's the location: Here are some site stats: I was wondering how much per month for the static ads should I aim for? I also would like to know what are the factors that the buyers will be looking for to decide if they traffic is a quality traffic or not. Thank you in advance, Nattawat
Well everything depends on the demographics you are shooting for. One thing I notice is you have a lot of traffic outside the US. There would be much better ways to Monetize the traffic yourself by targeting those countries. How much are you making from adsense on the top banner placement and what is the forum for?
It is a warez site and the aimed audiences are from worldwide. As for this content, I cannot apply for adsense and the one displayed in the pic is from Global Interactive. GI gives a very low CPM unless a conversion has been made. I get about extra $1 each conversion, but the CPM is normally around $0.03 without conversion. With the 50/50 shared revenue and the payout being THIS LOW, I would prefer not having any advertisement at all. (That is why you wouldn't see any ads if you enter my site right now).
Well you should get some sort of banner rotator script and apply for some offers run some offers relevant to the warez site. Dating, Freebies and Porn offers do well for that. Get some CPL offers from networks.
Well I have a banner rotation mod installed already. The problem is that I haven't been able to sell any ads spot yet. I have no idea how much should I charge for it. Ps. for example, if I have 5 spots to rotate, but only able to sell 1 or 2 spot(s), what is the best way to handle this situation? Rotate between 1-2 ads or wait until all the spots are sold and start the 5 ads from that moment?
have you tried contacting valueclick and advertising.com to auto fill that space for you... they work to get you the best CPM and you will get an array of advertisers. direct advertisers will want to see good results so working with valueclick etc first can give you a sense of CTR.
