Will I get sandboxed?

I have read a ton of articles telling how the sanbox effect isn't real and then some about how it is real. Some people wrote about how you shouldn't worry about the sandbox effect if your in a non-competitive keyword market but if your in a competitive keyword like "money" or "internet marketing", you will get sandboxed. I registered my domain a few days ago and I am ready to launch my website. My keywords have less than 100,000 google search results but I am worried that I will be sandboxed if I build too many backlinks too soon.

I plan on only adding PR3-4-5 links first to build credibility.

What are the odds of my website being sandboxed?

Is your keyword closely related to a highly competitive keyword?

build your backlinks slowly. don't put your new site on your signature here or in another forum. create content and wait. :)

Don't worry, to create backlinks doesn't mean that your website will get into sandbox. But don't make back link from any automation tool, Don't buy paid links
and don't do spamming for your site. Make good and quality links for your website.

The term "sandbox" is a glorified word for being too lazy, stubborn, or ineffective to promote a site.

Look at the big picture. Having only PR3-PR5 backlinks looks suspicious. Focus on relevant links, regardless of PR, and you will do much better.

    Good luck

Not sure if this helps but from my own experience launching a new music site with a newly registered domain (a fairly competitive category) late last year it didn't get hit with sandbox. Just submitted an XML sitemap and it started to get indexed almost immediately.

Not sure if i agree with the sand box being a excuse for being lazy snowbird. I have worked on sites that i believe to be in the sand box in the past.

Although the 'sandbox' hasn't been proven to exist, i have seen time and time again examples of sites traffic, which perfectly displays the sand box effect. My understanding is the more competetive the phrase the more chance of getting sandboxed.

Sandbox is a term normally applied to new sites that are a year old or younger. In many cases these new sites are trying to compete in niches with 20 million + pages. It is unreasonable to expect to rank well against competitive sites in such a short time. Most of the top sites are well established with plenty of backlinks on pages that have been indexed for years (which have PR).

I will agree that there is no public evidence that the sandbox does or does not exist. But with high quality niche related backlinks, I've always seen gradual improvements in the serps.
