I don't have RAID, and I bet most VPS providers here on DP do. Just because you do doesn't mean you go round Hijacking threads.

@ IwhiC: Can you do DirectAdmin instead of cPanel?

Ok...I'm sorry for hijacking your thread, I have seen it done before. All I was saying was that you should make it clear that you dont use raid, so that customers should take backups, because i have heard horror stories of people losing everything on a non raid server. Either that, or you should take offsite backup fairly seriously, especially since sata drives fail often.

So what? Just because 1 host has it here on DP everyone should list that they don't have it?

If it was like that, our offers would be like:

    1GB Space
    1GB Bandwidth
    cPanel
    WHM
    No RAID
    No ROR
    No Fantastico
    No Installatron
    No PHP 4

Etc etc, if you get what I mean.

No i just mean make it Clear on the TOS that the user has to take backups....hahah....not mention it on the actual SALES thread. IE: You put it is the users responsablility to take all backups, and you are not liable for any data lost, bla bla bla....Thats all. I didn't intend it as 55host.net said.

Well every one knows that they should take back ups, and in our tos it states that back ups are the responsibility or the user,

One of our vps servers has raid, and our shared servers have raid protection, if it has raid then we mention it,

Even if the server has raid protection the users still should take regular back ups as raid is not a full proof system these are machines and things happen. Back ups are very important and it is very important to take your own back up regardless if the host takes back ups or has raid protection.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS TAKE YOUR OWN LOCAL BACK UP AND DO NOT STORE THEM ON THE SERVER. i DON'T KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I SUGGEST THAT AND STRESS THAT.

    Cameron, thanks
We are looking into offering direct admin, we have set up a reseller account with them and as soon as that goes through I will update you with a final answer, I dont see it being a problem.

Raid is not a substitute for backups anyways... You should be making backups regardless

Raid is great so that there is no down time if one drive fails. It can also be used to boost I/O performance

Yes never substitute raid for back ups..

You should always keep local back ups of your sites regardless.

    This offer is still open

I am new with VPS I really only know Dedicated Servers, are these VPS accounts managed? and is this just an introductory rate or a fixed rate? also do you allow shared account selling on these because I have read lots of offers that do not?

    Thanks,

These are unmanaged VPS we will help you out with it as needed for basic management..

This is a flat rate every month.
And yes you can sell shared accounts on these, they are yours and as long as it is legal you can do as you please.
