This is in regards to the thread you started at eSyndicat.
At the quote above you first say "no script bashing - just saying that they were for sale and giving the price" this is true.

Now in the above quote you say "I added an announcement this morning to eSyndicat. They removed my thread. No evidence that it ever existed. I guess they don't want even a hint of negative publicity."

It had nothing to do with "negative publicity"

It was do to the fact you were selling the script for less then $25 on eSyndicats own site. Which would mean a loss of that money for Simon. Simon sent you either an email or PM to explain that.

Give me a break. That only makes sense as to why the thread was deleted.

One last thing. Negative threads are never deleted at eSyndicat - unless they just get too nasty (and that has only happened a few times in over 2 years). And that's the truth!

That's true. Although I didn't receive the PM until after I posted here.

I did intend to return and update my comments - it's just been an unusally hectic week.

And I still stand by my comments that eSyndicat is a good product and Simon Gooffin has always been very courteous, decent, and helpful in any dealings I've had with him. As I have said repeatedly, the problem with eSyndicat is it's upgrades.... they are simply the worst on the planet. And it sullies an otherwise good product. Nobody wants to be facing two or three days of an inaccessible directory every time there's another update.

I'm certain you will be pleased with her work. She is excellent. :)

I like Esyndicat better. I own both for a while. The only downside to esyndicat is the template designs are lousy and hard to find any premium templates to purchase.

I've been using the phpld free version for over 3 months, it totally satisfies me. Also heard from phpld v. 3 owners, that the paid version has a lot more features and is more seo-friendly.

I highly recommend esyndicat. I recently purchased a license and I had some issues with plugin configuration. But it was resolved promptly by support.

    Great Script.

There have been many going ons and shouting from the rooftops on DP Directory category about which is the better script - phpLD script versus phplynx script so thought it was time to settle the score and bring this to a poll.

This thread is not for talking about each others mamas!

EDIT: Guess I was too quick and bypassed the POLL - oh well....

I guess you have tried phplynx then, and have a directory running with it to show us?

To be fair something happend last year that will not and should not be spoken about and it will stay that way from me.

To answer your question though i did get close enough to it to change my mind.

But i cant see why i would have a directory running it if its not my preference, thats just silly. :)

Not silly at all. Do you buy your favourite car always? No, you comprimise and settle for second best often, like the rest of society may do at times.

Until you have a phpLynx directory running properly for a good amount of time there is nothing you can do to justify your reasons for swaying towards phpLD.

Buckle the seatbelts boys this thread should be fun (to watch from a distance) ;)

Please get it all out in this thread so some of the other threads don't have to end in this same conversation....

Between the two I would go for phpld.

During the last few years I have tried several scripts including both above mentioned. I think none of them is "the best on the market". At the moment my vote for the best script would go to phpMyDirectory. Also eSyndicat is strong enough to compete with any of these.

I also believe this thread shouldn't be here as I'm sure there will be some "smart heads" transforming the place in a battlefield as they usually do.

    A nice insight Dan.

Can you perhaps explain why you prefered phpLD to phpLynx? Also can you tell us whats so good about phpMD? I haven't really heard much of it.
