The Germans love Nato when it benefits them like in the cold war, Berlin Blockade and actions like Kosovo.

In Afghanistan the Germans stick to a quiet zone and have only supplied 3200 troops.

Just think, if we hadn't dropped the ball and went into Iraq the Germans would not be needed at all ;)

ramboulliet bas basically an offer no politican can accept and the UN knew it...not defending milosevic i dont give a crap...just pointing out how silly it is to mention the "peace negotiations" that are nothing more than: "hand over your land or we will bomb"...

i wont talk about the "Kosovo Liberation Army" people will call it propaganda so do your own search/google and look at the info and draw your own conclusions...

history will be the judge of this event and how "just" it was to form 2 muslim countries (kosovo/bosnia) in the heart of europe and how much "peace" this will bring...

the only thing i know is that you are obviously out of arguments and have to resort to homosexual proposals and accusations in a debate on politics...

i would repeat my question but you already know it and know you dont have an intelligent answer so i wont...

not out of arguments. I'm really in "awe" at all the dumbarses in the politics and religion section. So instead of keeping our useless arguing aflame, I decided to just call you a nibbler and walk away. But what the hey, I'll answer your question. Was this your question?
From what I understand, it's not on the "rise". I've heard less and less about deaths and failure, and more about how it's getting better than it was. Where do you get your information? The news? Paper? A blog? Have you been over there to see first hand? For me, I'm going to go with what the majority says. When the news was reporting all bad stuff. did you believe it? Mhm. What about when it reports things getting better? Ner?

I think the most of you have a problem with overthinking things. My girlfriend has this same problem and it ruins her.

    http://www.iraqbodycount.org/database/

keep in mind 2008 is still young and the graph is showing violence is on a rising trend...i have to admit there are ups and downs on the graph but the current trend is rising...this is the first website i cam across i wont search for more until you tell me what sources of info are "acceptable"

oh its all very very simple...lots of bombs+ oil = US gov bullshit

does she know you offer your knob to other men for nibbling? :D just kidding...

Eh, I don't know. I wouldn't exactly rely on that to tell me violence is on a rising trend. Can you find anything that says that the violence is at a decline? If so, why wouldn't you believe it? Because that graph?

    haha!

Based upon what they are actually doing, we don't need them.

How ludicrous is it to send troops to a war zone and then tell them that they are not authorized to use lethal force? Perhaps they should be issued whistles so that they can direct traffic on the Afghan superhighways.

So blame the Germans from us dropping the ball, they were sent in like many from what I read more for peace keeping than being an offensive weapon for us.

Everyone is so quick to blame America for everything. But we are the first ones they expect to see get involved when they need help.

I'm all for staying out of all of the wars around the world. Just let everyone kill each other and let brutal dictatorships thrive. Sounds like a plan for world peace. :D

Umm we are the ones who invaded Iraq without first making sure Afghanistan was finished, who else is to blame for that? The tooth fairy?

Much better than the world peace plan you seem to be endorsing, where we bomb Iraqi children till they have no arms and legs, then claim to be liberating them.

This is what liberation looks like to some Iraqis.

That's a 12 year old boy after the bombing of Baghdad. He's someone's son, probably someone's brother and cousin.

Liberation. World Peace. Those are just words. Death is the product of war.

I just watched a great video with a quote from Gandhi.

It's pretty clear that the 9/11 attacks against the US originated from Taliban controlled Afganistan. All the Nato countries have an obligation to respond to the attacks against a fellow NATO member.

We should seriously think anout throwing the Germans out fo NATO. They beleive it is a way one street where the US is obligated to protect them. When the shoe is on the other foot, they are unreliable.

The NATO mission in Afganistan is an offensive operation. The US and NATO forces have defeated the Taliban. But from the Tribal areas in Pakistan, new Taliban forces are armed and trained that infiltrate back into Afganistan.

Pakistani intelligence agents and paramilitary forces have helped train Taliban insurgents and have given them information about U.S. troop movements in Afghanistan, said a report published by a U.S. think tank.

It echoes recent statements by U.S. generals, who have increased their warnings that militant safe havens in Pakistan are threatening efforts in Afghanistan. The study was funded by the U.S. Defense Department.

"Every successful insurgency in Afghanistan since 1979 enjoyed safe haven in neighboring countries, and the current insurgency is no different," said the report's author, Seth Jones. "Right now, the Taliban and other groups are getting help from individuals within Pakistan's government, and until that ends, the region's long-term security is in jeopardy."
