Internet Causes Global Warming

    Well, maybe not directly but massive computer centers generate ALOT of heat and consume huge amounts of energy.. it certainly isn't helping the environment that we sit here, day after day, typing posts into Digital Point when we should be outside planting a tree :p

    There's been a lot of hand-wringing lately about how much air traffic contributes to global warming. But another damaging culprit has recently been found: the Internet. Computer centers consume massive amounts of energy, and their use is growing astronomically.

    Anybody up for a one day boycott of the Net? Can we get something started here? Can we blog about it? One day won't change anything, but one day at a time will.

    What are you thoughts? Can you stay offline for 24 hours? Let's pick a date!

    we should rather loose those factories that are too polluting rather than think that the internet is harmful for the environment.

    Those companies can use less energy-sources keep their servers running... and me too can't stay away from internet for 24 hours.. so I wouldn't take part in that boycott :D
