For me seo is never ending process for me. when i achieve my one target then in make other target and i do work according to my goal. Suppose i achieved rank for three words keyword then i make target to achieve two words keyword. And i make my plan according to this keyword.....................
hahahah. this isn't meant to be mean, but that's one of the funniest responses i've ever heard. I definitely agree with this. What I do is analyze my sub-pages. I see what keywords they rank for, then try to optimize the keywords and make them rank higher. If you have many sub-pages, this will be an ongoing process.
The key to SEO is knowing that it takes time. SEO is not a magic bullet, it is lots of continuing work. You may rank #1 in a week but a week later you may be dropped to #31. In the mean time, you can try many of the book marking social sites to see instant but not as good traffic. You could also advertise on related niche sites to see more targeted traffic quicker. The problem with that is that if the site you wish to advertise on has great traffic, the ads will be costly.
I think the key is staying three months ahead of the game. Work now, expect to see the results in three months time, and don't be afraid to see the site not performing as well as you hoped during the initial stages.
