If I am not mistaken, the "default" is "text only".

Image ads pay very low, and you stand the chance of getting a Flash ad, which tends to drive your visitors away, with the vexing vibrating, wiggling, flashing movement. I HATE motion on the screen, when I am trying to read the content. And the payout is less than 1 penny? No way.

I suspect that many of my visitors are like myself - they don't want to be distracted by any movement whatsoever on the screen. If the text is any good, let the visitor read it without unnecessary, unwanted, vexing, obnoxious motion.

you can put up to 3 ad units and 3 ad links.

you can browse around sites to see how others put the ads

I would say it depends on the site - text ads are great for content driven sites whereas image ads are okay for entertainment, video, image sites.

i think it's doesnot matter whether ads is image or text, but ads which matches your contents give you more earning.

    that's what i have expireance

It's never which one is better. Both can be used in combination and it depends on how and where you placed the ads. Sometimes based on my own channel tracking, one month it's more clicks from text ads and another from image ads.
