I run four sites, all opened within the last two months. All of them are ranked 1st/2nd page in Google. None of them are to be found in the first 10 pages of Yahoo search... They are indexed. What's the deal with Yahoo? I haven't found any articles related to this.
Good question. I know that Google puts a lot more emphasis on links, where Yahoo concentrates more on content and the tags. Since Google makes up 68% (more or less) of the search market, I optimize my clients' sites for them, which unfortunately then hurts my Yahoo ranking. Pick your poison, but it is a no-brainer to me.
I never get ranked well in Yahoo, my search traffic with them is always hopeless, same goes with MSN, I just give up with them.
That's why google is king. The issue not fresh. 10-10-2007 post a thread, almost one year, yahoo still be weak. http://www.adulu.com/showthread.php?t=688
But for longer run yahoo is better, you just never know when google makes the smallest tweak to the algorithm and wham! you are on page # "Will never see the light of day"
I read in SEOBOOK by Aaron Wall, in order to get high SERPs in Yahoo, you have to make a good On Page Optimization on each pages.
My site do rank better in yahoo then google. Yahoo more concern on the keyword, use the keyword on your tittle as well, this will help
That's pretty easy, Only 14% of Yahoo visitors using their Search Engine. Therefor they didn't care about improving it as Google doing daily, sad? Depends who you are asking, looks like Yahoo don't have smooth brains up there
Yahoo traffic come slowly, that's why most people give up on it, that's why you can dump your competitors in yahoo.
Well, 15% of my traffic comes from Yahoo, which is by no mean small. So had to work on it, the way I do it is to emphasize more on metatags keywords/description, titles. I think Yahoo pay more attention to those and so far it does work. I ranked higher in yahoo than google and that brought some much needed traffic. Google is the king, but getting up there takes a lot of effort and time, in the mean time, any traffic from elsewhere is a bonus that you cannot ignore.
Yahoo is difficult to understand. I too used to have good rankings in google but I did not have any rankings in yahoo. I get traffic from yahoo but not for the keywords which I target.
Yahoo is king if you want to promote high competition keywords - it will take ages with Google... months with Yahoo!
I have no problem lately with Yahoo. Most of my sites do rank. And Google it takes ages for my site to reach my target
I had the same problem as my_misyel. For Yahoo, just make sure you have all the titles, h1s and content optimized for what you are seeking to be ranked for. It would be specially important if you could pick a niche market to specialize on.
Ι saw this Search Submit by Yahoo months ago, but had always wondered if it actually improves your SERPs, or simply makes the Yahoo bot index your site more often ?? Anyone have any experience here with Search Submit ?? Alex
I read somewhere if you bold the text yahoo will pick this up, I have better rankings in yahho than google at the moment.
