Hello, I also use google analytics but often heard that the stats are not accurate enough. this also said to me by a well known online marketing company in germany. what can you tell about it? do you use another stats software? moreover, the conversion tracking does not work in my account. don't know why, any suggestions here? thanks
yes you are correct. In many cases google analytics is not working. The stats are different when we r checking with analytics and when we check with tracking software.
i dont like the fact it update once every 24 hours, if it become a live tracking tool it will definatly be great
Works well enough for my sites, I just wish they would improve the Reporting functionality to be more flexible. I only want to check a small sub-set of the information daily, but I can't customize a report to do so.
The only thing I like in google analytics that it is very easy to install. All my stats are different.
btw, is it necessary to install the code to all of our subpages if we want to track them either? If yes, I dont want to imagine what a site with 100s or 1000s of pages has to do...
i've install google analytics into my sites. at the same time i also use sitemeter. Google analytics's stat and sitemeter's stat are totally different (for my site). Analytics have more functions and analysis, and sitemeter is simple and user friendly. What I did was take both of the stat and do my own calculation.
Google analytics will give an overall picture about the traffic for a site but it may not be 100% correct.
Google analytics is a great tool overall just happen sometimes they are not accurately showing the data. Use other site tracking services like from statcounter.
its not accurate but its free. the only downside is that you give google too much info about your site.
The conversion tracking actually works but the data that is presented somehow is different from other stats software. But I will still go for it because it's free and basically it provides most of the information that I need.
I think it's great. Excellent stats. I especially like to see the view where I can see the source of my traffic, since I started with SEO I can see that traffic from search engines has increased over the last few months. Atleast I know I'm doing something right.
so far so good---- you may also use Google Webmaster Tools so you can monitor your site's performance and possible errors all the best!
yes a cms is useful but what if the site has not installed it? can i install it in a later phase and still fully profit from it?
I don't think so jophan, you just install it on your index page and that's it. you should able to see which page got the most traffic...
