Get rid of that free crappy forum software, buy a real domain name, get you a VBulletin license, and then..... Offer a quality site for a low price of $3 - $5 a month. Some of the better quality sites charge more like $15 a month. One site I was on had 20,000+ paid members at $15 a month - you do the math. Offer a paid members section with certain features that basic members do not have access to. Build more thena forum, build a community where people want to hang out and post. Also, consider adding a chat room to your forum. Some people like the real time chat as compared to posting and waiting for a reply.

Buy a domain $6 cheap hosting $2 per month and use phpbb or smf forums throw adsence or adbrite on. do a few basic site submissions, stumble,digg,yahoo and you can hit like 400 unqiues per day within 5 days. simple and easy
Forums dont pay well. First focus on getting traffic, then u can look into converting that traffic into earnings.
