Yes and not only Roger but Nadal was also feeling same as he got biggest title in his life. French Open is easy but it is very difficult to win on grass and he did it. We are looking for future no.1 Player.

    Here is latest ranking:

    Federer 6600
    Nadal 6055
    Djokovic4945

Nadal and Djokovic can win titles, but they lack one thing that Federer has. Artistry. Federer is just poetic when he is on song. Such grace, such artistry. That's what makes him a great player. In fact, in that aspect, he is even greater than Sampras.

What they lack is experience. Federer wasn't a champion overnight. I actually think Nadal and Djoko have bigger games then Federer.

What do you mean by 'bigger' games? You mean power hitting? That's exactly what I tried to explain in my previous reply. These guys can run around the court like rabbits and hit powerful forehand and backhand winners. But Fed is a class act. If he's in form, his forehands and backhands are simply magical. Some of the angles he creates are absolutely mesmerizing. The only guy who can come close to Federer today in terms of artistry is Richard Gasquet.

Yes and Federer still good on his service. Despite of 3 break in service, his service was excellent and saved match points. He had more ace then Nadal.

Artistry? It's called shot making and playing with confidence. Federer got absolutely blown off the court by Nadal in the French Open final and that would have had some impact for sure. Winning the French and Wimbledon in the same year, thats what I call a class act.

Yes and if we check history, we hardly find few names who did it.:) Nadal is top of the world right now and Federer should change some playing style.

Nah; you're still missing the point. I never said winning French Open and Wimbledon on the same year is not a big deal. It is a big deal. I'm talking about the difference in their style of play. Federer is an artist. He is the classiest player out there. Nadal is a power hitter who likes to play from the baseline more often than not.

However, both of them are extremely effective.

Well both players have different game and I love Federer game more than Nadal because Federer have some great shots collection and no one can match.

I am sure if we had Andre Agassi in last set, then Andre Agassi will win the match.:) He is expert in long games and easily can beat Nadal after 4 hours match.:D

wow really I did have a mix of sensations watching that match, after the match I did cry :( and not for happiness because I really wished Roggie victory

I don t know but in differents boards related to tennis, some people is saying that was the best final ever etc, other people is saying that tennis passed away
    1875-2008 :p

Honestly Wimbledon it s not the same, courts are more slow, new materials in special tennis rackets, new views of tennis, more physical, I think for good or bad, Nadal is the prototype of future tennis player, you can watch the courts after 2 weeks playing, the baseline without grass, and the T intact, bad times for serve and volley even in Wimbleldon just because it s a suicide play in that way in those currents days even to Federer at Wimbledon.

I think Wimbledon for example is more "herbe battue" than pure grass courts in those times haha :p

Congrats to both players, Rafita and the great Roger hope Roger at least win more GS and break Sampras GS record :p

btw: I m not sure but after the match, I think Federer keep in his racket bag, the Rafa s tennis racket ( I m not sure ). When Roger def Rafa in Hamburg and stopped Nadal s consecutive victories on clay, Rafa did ask to Federer if he could give to him the t shirt to remember that moment hahahaha, in deep they are both good colleagues

    true!

btw : looks this petition online thing (excellent link bait page hahaha)

Petition to AELTC and LTA to increase Championships Court Speed

To: The All England Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC) and The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).

This is a petition from tennis fans for the AELTC/LTA to increase the speed of the grass courts used at the 2009 Wimbledon Championships to a greater level than that used in 2008.

The signatories of this petition disapprove of the significant reduction in court speed that has gradually occurred at the Championships over the past five or so years.

This reduction has primarily had two negative effects. It has firstly led to a decrease in the amount of play that is traditionally associated with the Championships; serve-volleying and net-attacking play is now seen only rarely. Interrelated with this, the style of tennis played at Wimbledon has been brought into greater uniformity with the other grand slams. The signatories of this petition believe that this is pernicious to the sport of a whole, for it is largely the differences between the grand slams that constitute their greatest strength.

There has been much speculation in the media and among tennis fans that the reduction in court speed is to reduce the success of big servers on grass and thus to improve the quality of play. The signatories to an extent sympathise with this objective. However, they hereby argue that the reduction has been excessive and needs to an extent be reversed for the reasons stated above.

    Sincerely,

    The Undersigned

What do you think about?, agree or not

The problem with Federer is that his normal playing style beats everyone but Nadal.

Yes! If Nadal is out of any Tennis event then Title would be Federer. He is still best player but Nadal finds the way to beat master player.
