    hi everybody..

i found some pages on wikipedia which are about the topic of my website and then i got backlinks to my website by showing it as a referance.. btw, everything is legal and i am not a spammer or my website is not a MFA.. i know that wikipedia uses nofollow tag for the outbound links.. at this point, i just wanna know; although the nofollow tag, if that backlinks can help my website for the SEO purposes..

is there anybody who experienced this kinda something before?

    thanks for any comments..

Wikipedia was made nofollow to prevent just this. The links are worth nothing. They are entirely ignored by search engines.

If you know SEO (Which I guess you do) and if you know what 'no follow' tag mean for Search Engine crawlers, then I believe that you have answered your question.

    Hello,

It is not a big problem to get links from Wikipedia, they have a rule and give one link for top contributors. Here top contributor mean 7 articles to get one link. Link is no-follow , but at the time i did this, i used to get around 200-300 visits from Wikipedia daily. Link not help for getting higher PR , but will increase your traffic a lot!

wiki links are no follow to stop spamming, sorry to disappointment you. However you might start picking up visitor traffic from being on their which is no bad thing.

200-300 visitors from Wikipedia well is it true then I really congrats to you but I don't think that it is possible because when someone search something in wikipedia then he got all the information related their terms in case he doesn't then he should move to another big portal, well it's my personal opinion

Well first of all I want to tell that back links from wikipedia is not possible because of no follow tag and wikipedia doesn't give the link to any commercial website it is appear few minuets or hours after that he will remove your link if you have informative website then you can submit but you need to very careful about relevancy( like memorable places in India then you can add your link on memorable places in India) otherwise they will remove your link.

I don't think wikipedia can give you visitors or your particular targeted visitors. Here are lot's of other work which can help you to gain you ranking and visitors as well :)

It really depends on the content of website! My success is nothing, one of my customers (tea industry) drop around 10 articles and used to get around 500 visits a day, it is great traffic source!

Even though no follow tag the links originated from wikipedia are valuable and trustworthy, but it is hard to get your links stuck longer there unless you contribute wiki with valuable and quite relevant content what the link suggest.
