Jayde is a spammer

I signed up some sites with the jayde directory/search engine, now I am getting pummelled with emails from them asking me to confirm.

somehow they are sending emails in retrospect too, I will empty my unwanted mail, then find 20 jayde emails in yesterdays box, as well as todays!

    it doesn't stop!

    whats up with this??

it does, now my spam folder gets em....
for example, I emptied my spam folder yesterday and maybe again today, I just checked it and there is about 10 jayde confirmation requests which are dated 4/09(???)
how do they send emails which are dated 2 weeks ago??
i confirmed these requests but they keep coming, sometimes 20 in a row!

I find the Jayde directory emails so annoying that I no longer like to sign up new sites for it, in spite of its high profile. They really have no idea of moderation.

when doing directory submissions I like to open a *junk* mail account like abc123@myDomain,com

Then when I'm done with the submissions I can see whether or not there is a lot of spammy crap coming to me. If there is, I simply wipe out the email account and that's that... if not, I'll hold on to it for the next round of submissions. :)

That's a good tip, trust me! :D too many directory owners looking to spam... it's a shame because there are so many good directories and these few ruin it.

Many directories will send you at least 1 email to verify/confirm your listing, and some unfortunately put you on a mailing list and send you junk afterwards. But you really should be using a junk webmail account for all directory submissions anyway.

I'm having the same trouble with Jayde.I think it must be glitch in their system sending out confirm emails because I haven't had this with other sites I've submitted in the past.

Best recommendation I can give you.. download firefox + the Gish It! toolbar..

It uses the Gish It! service to create a temporary email account that you can kill at any time.. best way to avoid spam and confirm registrations ;)

block jayde if he is spammer.

I agree that may be it is some spammer using that address to spam.

I got a lot of spam emails from PayPal, but I don't think those spam emails really sended by PayPal.

I would be curious to know who you have found to be naughty. Please PM me if you have the time or share the information here. I submit to a lot of directories and my crap email level has seemed to have quadrupled lately. I can't be sure if its the directory submission or site scraping.

P.S. I had Jayde rated pretty high but they seem to getting out of hand.

I have a number of sites in Jayde and have never had a problem with spam before - are you sure you haven't ticked that you want to receive newsletters etc.

I find most of the time its people not being careful when completing forms that are the problem.
