Oh well, thought I would play along too so here's my stats First article submitted in 2005 then I had a big break for a couple of years and only just really started submitting a lot of articles this year. Rest assured that the amount of views and clicks does not correspond to income (I wish).
The bad thing is that you have to make mistakes, before you fully understand how everything works. I made some crappy articles with weak call-to-actions, wasted some time, but I am glad that now I know what to do and how to do.
Man, either I suck at writing my resource boxes or I am in the wrong niche...... Then again, I've only been a member for 3 months and been submitting articles hardcore for the last month. I know my conversions are good, but I've also wrote a boatload more articles than you guys have (when comparing your views/clicks to your amount of articles). Maybe this is one of those things that will play itself out with time?
Okay I feel really sick to my stomach now after seeing all these huge stats But I just started so maybe on of these days I will get up there.
I am planning to write lots, lots of articles in summer, and by September I need to stabilize my sales to 1 sale/day or more Hopefully, my articles stats will improve.
um can anyone give me a tut on the resource box? i dont see how it shows up on an article? is it just at the end of the article or is it clearly defined like "resources:"
It's just at the end of the article, it's not clearly defined. That's one of the best things about EZineArticles - you can make it look like it's part of the article - rather than in some hidden box somewhere like it is on most article directories (one of the main reasons that article directories like ArticlesBase.com suck even though they get good search rankings sometimes. that leads me off to a rant... man if some of these article directory owners didn't try to squeeze every penny out with adsense earnings they'd get a lot more articles submitted and make more money in the end.) Your resource box should include links that are directly related to the article you just wrote - that's why you don't want to make and use pre-made resource boxes. When you are writing your article - you will also write your resource box - you will need to write it in html format --- links like: Lose Weight Now
I couldn't create a list of my links though. It just came up scrunched and at the end of my article with noting to show the readers that it a resource
You have to tell them what your links are. And remember there's a limit of two links. Example You write a 250+ word article on something to do with gold in WoW then in your resource box you write: Get The WoW Gold Guide that will have you earning 200+ gold per hour! Best WoW Guides.
Guys, the click through has very very little to do with the resource box, a call to action is pretty much all you need. The click is mostly based on the article itself. If you leave the reader wanting to know more they'll click.
This is an art I'm definitely trying to work on. Treating the article as an extended tease that gets the reader to click on the link for more information.
Yesterday, I've written 5 articles. If I keep this consistency, then by the end of summer, I will have over 300 articles That keeps me motivated
Would any of you be able to post your earnings as a result of your article marketing efforts? Also, do you post the same articles to other directories? I'm really interested in article/bum marketing and understand a lot of work is involved. I would be greateful for any tips you could share. Thanks.
My earnings are not great, because I am just starting to do Article Marketing the right way. I think in about 2-3 months, I will be able to show off my earnings teapoint Read some guides to Article/Bum Marketing. They will help you to get started.
