I am currently experimenting with SEO for a proxy site if you would care to read my three step articles on Search engine optimisation for a proxy site you can here: http://www.back-links.org/Search-engine-optimization-for-a-proxy-site.php
#1 Yes, definately use adsense on the homepage (only). #2 Adbrite can bring in extra cash, BUT dont use too big ad formats because they will drive away users. AND, don't make them look like an ad too much, less people will click, and money from impressions is really low. Test and see what works the best for you, but adsense is the major money maker. Some people use popunders and make a lot money with them, I just don't like them because they drive away users/traffic too. Good luck
Its very easy to convert it. Html is html, you just need to change the Form and to work with glype and remove all the stuff in the html that has to do with phproxy.
Yes true, it's easier than make a total new template and code it yourself But a freecsstemplates theme is good too for me By the way, I'm selling an uncoded proxy template http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=8396721#post8396721
I don't know if anyone would be interested in dumping $xx for a template which is sold more than once. ANyhow, that is only my opinion.
hhmm....understand what you mean....so long term traffic was primary key here... thank you xternall...
Hi All, Just wanted to let you know I am selling a great proxy network. One of the few listed on DMOZ that is over 2 years old. If interested, please see the below thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=918664 It is also on auction at: http://www.dnlodge.com/forums/sites-for-sale/10209/ Thanks.
Yes! The key is to get long lasting traffic for proxies without having your proxy being blocked by web filters. There are many ways to do that. One way is to create an education site portal and then place a hidden proxy there and let only ur users know about it. You would even get some .edu links to it This way the web filters will categorize your proxy as an education site which remains unblocked by them and thus allows your proxy to last long
But making an edu site takes a lot of time And about GLYPE 1.0 ... well just waiting for a full ajax support !!!
hmm I don't think he is meaning to make a full edu site... just a front page with some text and a members page - the proxy
Yeap thats right, you just gotta write some education related text on the homepage, better still create 1-4 more sub pages with some education text and have another extra sub-page for access to the proxy only and change the proxy surfbar to calculate math
Still we do need write SOMETHING for edu sites! .... so better just make a new sites with new templates......!
