Adsense can be a fickle beast to make money with and my income level was sad to say the least! So I made a few changes, what did I do? (a) I put link ads above the fold (section of website that visitor initially sees before scrolling downwards). (b) I put two skyscrapers in the margin, (4 ads each group.) One partially appears above the fold. (c) I radically changed the color scheme of my ads to match my site. The background blends in to the page color. The links are blue as subconsciously this is what people are used to. My ad text is the same color as the URL, black, as this promotes ad uniformity! (d) I put a large rectangle (4 ads) at the foot of the page, blended and matched. (e) I set the border color to white and the ads no longer look like heavily bordered ads that are so traditional and so-o-o-o-o-o boring! Last time I checked the profits were up a whopping 500% and there is still 8 hours to go in this day (where I am)! I'm wrapped with the results! Best to You! Regards, Dave.
congratulations. but is there any traffic increase cause this or only changing the positioning of adsense.
Thanks for your comments! The traffic numbers were fairly static. The variables that I changed are detailed above, there were no other alterations. Cheers, D.
Sorry to disappoint! The point of my post was that after making a few very simple adjustments my profits soared! It is surprising how many people overlook the more obvious Adsense techniques that I've mentioned. I will ad more lucrative and uncommon secrets to this thread if and when I find them! Thanks, Regards, Dave.
how were your ads positioned before? would be good if you could show the comparison of results based on ad positioning.
One thing i can suggest u Please match ur traffic .... Google wont trust any one until u have stats ... Get more visits ... Wish u good luck
thats pretty good advice cheers. The only thing is as the google content network is price competitive you can get too many really cheap advertisers by including too many ad-spots. by limiting your ad-spots to about 8 max then you should have fairly good bid rates on your page, otherwise I find by going over 8 advertisers if my visitors click on the ads near the bottom I only get around 0.2% of 1 cent.. ie: I need 5 click to get a single penny in revenue.
Now, talk about stats. Let's say I have a site running and my google analytics doesn't show any traffic or so but I'm using statcounter so I know how much traffic I have. And due to the issue that analytics won't show no visitors but will google still pay me ?
Thanks for all your comments Guys! I do use the maximum number of Adsense ads allowed, by why wouldn't you!? I have recently changed the ad positions again and have included a few extras on my site, links to read 'The New York Times' and 'The London Times' as well as 'The Wall Street Journal'. Hoping this might attract a few people back and get a few more ad clicks!? Cheers, Dave.
Profits now up to 600%! I changed ads around and only left two above the fold and the money has continued to roll in. Loving AdSense at the moment - but will it last!? Cheers, Dave.
