Hey everyone! Just to give you an idea of how stupid and forgetful I can be, I just barely tried to register for this forum, and little did I know, I already had an account! I need to start layin' down sticky notes everywhere to perhaps lower my percentage of stupidity-related mishaps! Aaaanyway, I'll give you a brief introduction, I'm aged 13, young, and very energetic. I always get pretty passionate about something, like say... a forum! I make it all nice, start advertising, and then get another idea in my head, forget the 'forum' and move on! So I'll fill in a few questions here, if someone can give me some tips on how to keep with something please HELP! So, I'll just cut to the point: you may all find this a little weird, but there's a whole community of corporations and future businessmen/woman integrated into the MMORPG RuneScape. Just search corporations on the forums, and you'll find out ALOT. Anyway, It's given me alot of experience, but now I want to make REAL money, designing REAL opportunities, instead of it being in a mere game! Initially, I had an idea of opening an entertainment website sponsored by a small e-based corporationed I've helped found called Clumsy Ninja Enterprise (clumsyninja.net) This entertainment website would feature a variety of news, media, communication, etc.. pertaining to Music, Movies/Tv, and of course Video Games. I know there's A TON of these on the web right now, and I HAVE done my homework, but I think I have a chance. Latter, I want to make money in a year or two off advertising, I am looking at figures as high as 1,000$ a month, and I'm guessing about 100-200$ of that money will go to things like advertising the site, buying content, etc.. that will appeal to the trafficing users. I am just looking for some professional advice on how long it would take for me to get this site on the first page of search engines like Google, MSN, and Yahoo. I am a marketing-newbie too, so I want to do my homework and stuff before I launch this website in say... let's be realistic... 1 or 2 years? Hopefully sooner. I also need some resources on web-marketing PWETTY PWEASE! I am a complete newbie, and it may just be me, but I can't find any really content-friendly guides on this forum and Google that I don't have to pay for. Alright, I typed a lot! This should probably go in introduction section... ahh. Well thanks all! -Duler700- clumsyninja.net Millionare by 18!
Since you are 13, you will appeal to the myspace crowd. I am sure you have a myspace account. Start there.
I'm against MySpace, and rapists at the general point! But really, how so? You mean by making a MySpace page and advertising on there?
Instead of waiting 1-2 years to launch your site, why not launch it now. One of the better pieces of advice I've ever gotten from a business man is a saying that goes "ready, fire, aim". On the surface it may not make much sense, but the point is instead of endlessly preparing for a business idea, which usually means that it never ends up happening because you spent all of your time getting ready for it, and never actually did it. You should get together the necessities of preparation and then go for it, and correct any mistakes along the way. Don't wait forever to launch a site, do it now and correct and learn along the way. Not only will you learn a whole lot faster, not only will your idea then actually happen, but you'll also make more money in the end. By the way, it's great to see someone your age getting involved with business, your the kind of person that if you learn to stick to a plan, you will be a millionaire at a young age. Just don't forget to enjoy your childhood, it's the most innocent carefree time you'll ever have in your life. Good luck with your business.
Thanks, you're right. I'm going to piss in toilet. But I really don't have much experience in Web Design, I mean I'm not retarded, I'm very good with computers for my age, and an accomplished graphic designer. But ya, maybe I'll start, and just keep growing. Instead of starting with all my years of knowledge and making it HUGE, but the longer I wait the more competition. Sorry, I like to answer questions out loud. THANKS! THAT REALLY INSPIRED ME!
Hey im 15 right now im getting the same idea as you for the mmorpg genre forum and sell the advertising space. Right now if you cant afford the web hosting and stuff i suggest making a good blog and doing adsense or being paid to write in forums although i dont understand that. We might be able to work togther contact me at by the way the blog of mine is psp4you.co.cc <---just my startup blog experimenting with all aspects of it
You need to find less competitive keywords for you niche and use the keyword in anchor text links you buy. Buy text links on sites similar to yours with a high page rank. That's just one of many ways.
You should totally read my blog, Blog Badly. I have more practical SEO/MMO tips than the rest of the guys and I happen to be around your age as well (14). Talk to me on AIM as well. I like to get in touch with people my age who are trying to make a name online.
MoneyMoose, I find it hard to believe you're 14, and giving professional advice to executives for various online companies. But, hey ya never know. Just though I'd say that, although you blog looks very cool, and I estimated you make around 60$+ a month by just writing about stuff you love. ^_^ Thanks to everyone for the advice, but HerculesZeus, I'm sorry but I won't need any of your services. I already employ staff to take care of my message board needs. I shouldn't say hire, they do it for free. OKAY, THANKS!
Well, took your advice and made a blog, check it out! http://millionare18.wordpress.com/ Tell me what you think.
It's useless. No offense - but with work like that you wont be a millionaire anytime soon. How about finding a unique strategy...
Work like what? I do find it offensive, and I'm probably mis-understanding what you're trying to say... could you be more specific?
I my self am still in my teen years and have been making passive income online. Just remember to do what you love and the money will follow. Also, don't expect to make money over night.
I'm also a teen looking to make money, and if I was able to make even $50 a month I'd be pleased. Not that being a millionaire doesn't sound fun or anything Lol, I'm just being realistic.
As far as your site, don't wait forever to launch it if it's built, but also don't rush anything if your in the process of building it. I have this website I started working on like two years ago, and launched twice since then. Both times it wasn't quite what I wanted, so just a week ago after working on it again the past few months, I'm finally happy with the website itself. I still need to get more content on it and start promoting it, but the site itself is looking good So basically what I'm saying is take your time when building it (oh, and use Joomla, Joomla rocks) And don't expect to make tons of money as soon as you launch it, you have to do it for fun. I'm no expert, but I'm sure people will agree. I don't even plan to make much money, if any, from my current website. I run it because I enjoy running it, not because I want to make money (although it'd be nice ). I do plan on making another site with a more popular niche someday though. But uh... aiming for $1000 a month when you aren't even making anything yet is a little much. You may be able to make that someday in the future if you play your cards right, and, of course, by trial and error.
The era of gettign some niche site to international and traffic prominance is fast disappearing, the industry has already began to seetle into defined moentisation models adn dominant designs. You must look at things that will genertate in great excess of 100$ a month. That can be done in 1 week. Set your scope higher, get a buiness advisor, and create genuine value for people. basically, try to makea good product that has broad enough appeal, then buy traffic , 50-100k whatever, and print money. If you are doign this as a hobby ( or game as you put it) then that is another issue. But, if you are serious be serious. just my 2 cents
