Does this increase earnings?

I read in a blog recently that a way to earn more with adsense is to create a website aimed at less technical users, i.e. a knitting website instead of a webmaster website, because people who know lots about the internet will spot ads more easily and not click on them. Can anyone tell me if this actually would work?

Well could be. Why not test it yourself. It is not that expensive to setup adsense site doesn't it. by the way uncommon topics usually rank faster on google.

    I disagree with your statement.

People click on relevant ads that interest them. Period.

A more savy user may not confuse adsense ad links with content links though. That's where you may pick up a higher CTR aimed at users with less technical experience online.

But a well optimized site with good placed ads using quality keywords with a consistent flow of relevant traffic is what increases your CTR and revenue.

hmmmm, looks like its correct...webmasters know very much about which ones are ads so they mostly not click on them but a common man is not too sure whether its ad or link to other post..

I must say webmasters are getting smart day by day :)

If ur comment is correct then DP will not be living.

You need to think about how often someone searches for something though, you could be able to rank easily for something less technical but how frequent are the visits?

For example how often will a knitter look for a new pattern? the rest of the time they will be away from the pc/laptop

The gamer will be online more for example.

Will a gamer look for cheats, accessories etc? yes

The knitter may just want to print off the pattern they found.

Then theres the worth of the click, highly competitive non technical keyword? if not then lower price for the advertisers and even lower for you.

Still worth it? probably, if its your hobby, as a money earner though, may lead to you returning 4 weeks later saying my niche pays too low.

Consider everything before setting up another site for revenue.
