I think that you can join their affiliate program first and then just buy hosting from your affiliate link.:)

I found the link in a signature on here...

    http://hostingplanrebates.com/default.aspx

What do you guys think? Legit or should I just go with the cheaper plan and not bother with the rebate stuff?

Just click on "Affiliates" button. And it's $65 per referral.

Hostmonster is good but very delicate and strict, if anything goes wrong, they will ban you without a warning, hostgator is better

Their customer service is lacking, their must be better affordable hosting options...

My sites are still down, thanks Hostmonster... I think the 99.9% Network Uptime Guarantee is false advertising, they should change that to whatever it really is or keep the severs UP!

My sites are back up... it took around an hour or so for them to come back online...

I am not sure if I would recommend going with these guys, my experience with them so far has been pretty ehh. I bet you could get a better deal from someone else on here IMO.

I've got two different sites on different servers with HM. I too noticed the outage on one of my sites earlier today. It's happened several times since starting the site a couple months ago.

My other site has never experienced any down time that I know of. My conclusion is that the newer site sits on a bad server.

I must say I've never had any trouble trying to get HM support on the telephone. Longest wait was less than five minutes.

I've used a dozen hosts in the past 7 years and hostgator is the only host i'd recommend to others. I haven't tried hostmonster though. I don't think you'll go far wrong with either one
