    Hey guy's,

I was just wondering what exactly makes a Dual Core costlier then a Celeron!!.

I asked the same thing to one of the customer support guy's in LG and he replied, "a Dual Core is good for all the internet operations i.e if you spend most of your time on it!"

Personally, I am not sure if that's correct, but then it's just me..

Besides, I am looking to buy a LG Xnote S900 for my dad back home.

    It has a
    Intel Core2Duo T7300 (1.83 GHZ/667 MHz/2 MB Cache),
2 GB DDR2 RAM, 250 GB SATA HDD,
    19" Wide TFT,
    4 USB,
    1.3 mpx cam,.

    Forget her Lipstick!!

    Also,

What do you think about this one -

    Intel Celeron M543 (1.86 GHz/533 MHz/1 MB Cache),
    1 GB DDR2 RAM,
    120 GB SATA HDD,
    15.4" Wide TFT etc.etc.

Celerons are like the budget ones. Worse than Pentium 4's if memory serves me correctly.

Be better off with a Dual Core. May not need all of its power, but better to be safe than sorry (as you are stuck with it)

I guess I agree with you, what's with the Celeron anyways, does it have a overheating issue?

You mean they perform different functions?
    What do you recommend?

geez !!, i didn't say nothing about the lipstick :p

I think they're too slow to overheat lol.

    Anything but the celeron!

I'd look on eBay, bought 2 computers and a laptop off their, all for WAY under what you'd pay in a store (and haven't had any problems)

Celeron Processors are so much slower, they laag and hang when multiple applications are being done. But I like my 1.4GHz Celeron a lot more than my old P3 500MHZ.

If you are asking for advice then I'd say that go for Dual-Core.
You remember PIII? Celeron is a stripped down version of that. PIV is the next version of PIII, Pentium D are 2 prescott processors just clubbed together(Don't give that good a performace. Whereas Dual-core is a stripped down version of core2duo, dual core leaves the celeron's way behind in performace...you can trust me on that, I've personally used Celeron, PIV(Both socket and the pin type), Pentium D and dual-core.

The advt punch line says "DUAL CORE - DO MORE"
Of course! there is a quad core as a competitor for the dual core processor. As the performance increases, the price shoots up. What to do?

If you're a budget user then go for Celeron, otherwise Dual Core is way too better :).
