Why cudnt I see backlinks from directory my site has been listed...

Im new to all this,
I was approved by two free directories Humor links and best net sites but I cudnt see them as backlinks...Can u tell me why,or free directories doesnt give backlinks but how is it possible......
Kindly tell me what went wrong....

Were you checking in google? it doesn't show all backlinks and maybe the backlinks are not picked up yet by the search engines.

 

Thx for reply mate I checked my website at iwebtool.com backlink checker but didnt find any backlinks....Or I can show backlinks when google will refresh their index...

 

Check backlinks at Yahoo Site Explorer.

Even though your links were approved, it may take 2-3 weeks for the search engines to index those pages. And even a little longer to show up with some backlink check tools...

 

If you used same descriptions and title for all your submission, they may never show up as its duplicate content then. Remember only unique stuff shows up (if indexed).

 

OMG is it true that all of my submissions have to be unique,cudnt believe it....

 

What rubbish!. DO a search for the description of any site that appears in many directories and they show up. To show you, I randomly picked the description of one site in DMOZ - notice how many sites have that description (check here). Why did you not do that simple exercise before making your claim? Here is another eg of a site description I pulled from a random site and a random directory - no sign of a duplicate content filter there.

Do a 1000 directory submission with your same shit description and then come back to show me how many of them appear as your backlinks.

Don't talk crap without knowing about google's duplicate content filter.

Now you do some simple exercise before making your next claim!

 

How do you know that they are not turning up because the page has not been indexed by google (its too deep in the site) or its becasue, as you claim, dupilicate content? You have no idea. Who's talking crap?

 

if you just got them listed it will be a while until you get indexed

same problem happen to me , i think it,s just bcoz the crawler has not indexed that page yet.

not every description must be different.. i try and change it every 100 submissions to be safe
