PR is just a symbolic language...google may use any hidden algorithm to rank website all over the web (they may even call it a code name like crazyfox), pr is just their way to say top sites: PR10 - Top 10 world sites PR09 - Top 1000 world sites PR08 - Top 10.000 ... PR07 - Top 100.000 ... PR06 - Top 1.000.000 ... PR05 - Top 10.000.000 ... PR04 - Top 100.000.000 .... PR03 - Top 1.000.000.000 ... PR02 - Top 10.000.000.000 ... PR01 - Top 100.000.000.000 ... PR00 - The rest (billions of billions and beyond) PRNA - Too new for google to even know about it or you started your site between google pr updates ) For example PR7 is the same as alexa's top 100k
not sure this is true. adobe.com is PR10, while having alexa 80, so this doesnt place them in TOP 10 world site as you stated. msn.com is PR9, while having alexa 7 rank, so it should be PR10 according to you ?
Google page rank has nothing to do with alexa rank....They have their own system of ranking sites on th basis of traffic!
That doesn't mean anything. PR is just a calculation of the amount of backlinks you have. See the full list here : http://www.ebenji.com/2008/06/21/how-many-backlinks-for-pr-whatever/
Completely wrong. It's not symbolic and it isnt based on the same things as Alexa ranking. It's a specifuc patented algorithm http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-...6,285,999.PN.&OS=PN/6,285,999&RS=PN/6,285,999 http://dbpubs.stanford.edu:8090/pub/showDoc.Fulltext?lang=en&doc=1999-66&format=pdf&compression=
PR has nothing to do with Alexa Rankings. and PR is important for each and every website, if Google defines it, than why webmaster opposes it. View this link to know more: http://www.google.com/corporate/tech.html Regards, Aba-Jobs
Google Page Rank and Alexa rankings are poles apart. These days page rank doesnt matters as it used to be in the past. A lot depends on the amount of traffic you are getting.
Here is some sites having PR 10 www.google.com www.adobe.com www.w3.org www.nasa.gov www.whitehouse.gov www.energy.gov www.nsf.gov www.real.com www.usa.gov
definitely way off the mark, i have site close to 100k Alexa and its PR3 also if your assumptions were true it would mean PR has a relevancy to traffic, which is does not.
yeah i agree. Page Rank and Alexa Ranking has a different system and algorithm so the result is different.
