There is no time frame. It depends on the backlinks to your site (not in terms of quantity, but quality).
Try reading this : http://www.ebenji.com/2008/07/02/getting-your-sites-indexed/ Hope it helps. Cheers
Submit a comment to one of the big blogs like DoshDosh or TechCrunch and you'll be indexed overnight.
Wow, that plugin for the site was awesome! I created a robots.txt and a sitemap.xml file. Are there any other types of files that are good to include in something like that for search engine recognition?
www.techcrunch.com, www.doshdosh.com, www.problogger.com, www.randaclay.com, www.copyblogger.com --- all will get you indexed asap.
Roughly 1 week should be a normal time period provided that you have content rich site and it doesn't look like spam or anything. Pretty fast I would say....
Yes it really depends....for me it takes 10 min for a new post to get indexed in google....keep posting regularly then the time goes on reducing i think...
That works too... All you really have to do is put your link on a site that gets crawled frequently, preferrably one that has constantly updating content like a blog or forum. So many people think it's so difficult to get indexed but I can honestly say, and I own over 90 domains, that I never even think about getting indexed anymore... Oh, another tip... Put Google toobar on your IE and surf your site a few times (hopefully anybody reading this is smart enough to use Firefox and *never* use Google toolbar or SearchStatus in the Fox)...
its all based on your quality of work. quality dir ,search engine submission number of back links to your site, good blog submission, good contents in your site etc
