Most of the traffic you get from deals like that will be either machine generated or from popups on high traffic networks.

In the case of machine generated, it's just an automated program that repeatedly accesses your site to simulate hits. That kind of traffic does you absolutely no good.

In the case of popup traffic, the popups are on high traffic sites, like those where people are looking to download free mp3 files. In most cases, they just close the popups without even looking at them, so most of them never even see your offer. And even if they did see your offer, they probably wouldn't be interested. For example, if you're selling life insurance, do you think the teeny-boppers would be interested? No, they're just looking for the latest mp3 download.

However, there is a way you can put this cheap, garbage traffic to good use. Sign up for a bunch of banner exchanges - 20 or 30, maybe even more. Then get a good banner for your site. If you can't make a good one, pay somebody to make it for you.

Now, build a simple webpage that has the codes for all the banner exchanges on it and use that as the target page for your cheap traffic. That way, every time your page is accessed, you'll be credited for 20 or 30 banner views.

That means that your banner will appear on lots of other websites and any traffic that comes thru that banner will be targeted, since they actually clicked on it. This method essentially converts garbage traffic to targeted traffic, so you'll at least have a fighting chance of making a sale.

If you don't like banners, you could work this same idea with multiple link exchanges instead.

interpro is right about the type of traffic generated but his suggested technique is of questionable ethical merit and may be discovered by the networks and others in the network like you, then pulled.

Also, consider that if we all followed that example no one would see each other's banners. Instead, work legitimately with banner exchanges, create a great web property, "Bum Market" and create relationships with other sites once you have the quality in place.

Yes. And yes, I got sales. Do a search for "click ads." A lot of good agencies out there. Experiment.

If you buy clicks, try to ensure that they are not machine generated. At best, it will just be a spike on your chart graph. At worst, it can crash the server depending on your host. I found some click (visitor) programs worth it. I just bought one off of ebay this week for $4.99 for 10,000 mainstream RON visitors. It works as earlier in the week I did virtually no other networking besides that and even a few people were clicking on the Google AdSense. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
