Texas law gives a person a right to protect.

No, this is Texas not Iran.

Also, please don't use the pejorative you used. There is no reason for you to do that.

    You know what's funny?

In most all cases I would be supporting a home owners rights to protect his/her family, home, belongings from a criminal.

I also firmly believe in states rights.

The problem I have with this matter is listening to the tape, it's clear the guy was not protecting, he was dead set on killing when being told not to by the 9/11 dispatcher.

Even the law laid out does not give him the right to do what he did, I read articles where those who wrote the law state as much, a simple reading of the law shows as much as well.

Not necessarily. He might have committed a Federal crime. That is yet to be seen.

Your right but the way the Texas law is written it will be hard to get a conviction.

That is why I cited the Federal law on murder. The Texas law will not help him defend a Federal murder charge. Much like states with legal medical marijuana laws do not prevent Federal drug charges.

As with medical marijuana I think the federal government should mind its own business in this case.

It will not be a federal case. It does not fall into a Federal Charge.

And you base this conclusion on what? Sounds like an opinion. You know, just because you repeat it does not make it true.

It is unlikely the Federal government will get involved, but is certainly possible.

    Show me anything different.

Just because you have wild unfounded speculation does not make it true. Believe it or not the local Judges have been debating this at our daily breakfast just like we have in the forum. I believe them when they say its not federal.

How is pointing out the existence of a Federal law and the possibility of Federal prosecution wild? unfounded? or Speculation? I explained the possibility, and that is was unlikely.

It was you who is making conclusive statements and speculating that it will not happen.

It's not over by a long shot. Horn will undoubtedly face civil suit, and there is a a very good chance this will rise to a civil rights case federally.
