I recently purchased a domain from 1and1 but can't figure out how to pay for it. Do they just send me a bill at the end of the month or something?

I had the same issue when I tried to register a domain with them. It was never eventually registered with them as I gave up and just used another service.

I don’t recommend 1and1, they have bad customer support.

I do have a paypal account connected to the 1and1 account and I have full access to the domain. I just want to pay the reg fee for the domain and make sure they don't sneak some bogus charges under my nose.

    Don't. ever. use. 1and1.

They are the WORST company on earth. They have HORRENDOUS customer service, and they are pretty much scammers. And I'm not just saying this. Check namepros and dnforum if you don't believe me.

Glad I never ended up trying to register my domain with them. Probably would have lost it if I waited around for it.

I bought a 5 domain package from someone in a forum and 2 of them were at 1&1.
They were .infos and I didn't want them so I just let them expire.
2 months later I got snail mail from a collection agency saying I owed $72
and either pay or further action would be taken.
1&1 renewed them for me even tho I never said I wanted to renew them, I got a lawyer and
threatened to sue them before they dropped the collection agency request.
They are owned by the #6 Registrar in Germany SCHLUND+PARTNER and their support is in India.
They are without a doubt the #1 worst registrar on the net..

1and1 is best for hosting and worst for domains and they will take money from your paypal on billing after few days. I host my websites wid dem and they take actual money from paypal after a week when invoice is generated.

SO don't worry and in 1and1 u have to cancel the domains when it's req and don't let it cancel automatically.
