here's the thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=909518 the CH lures designers with a high-priced contest and then awards the contest to someone who doesn't exist! i checked the members' list several times. the "winner", underdesign, isn't there. i asked for underdesign's profile URL several times via pM but the CH refused to give it to me. this guy's last two contests were declared "won" but he didn't receive any itraders for them. why is that? watch out for this guy!
That really sucks if it's true, but you should put a watermark like Luvlee did, it will make it much more difficult for him to rip it off.
I never trust many of those contests. I think it happens a lot of times. You just happened to call this guy on it. I suggest the same as Silica did that you use a watermark.
He could either be doing that as he never found an entry to his liking and therefore didn't wish to waste the cash on something that he didn't like or, as you said, he really could have been luring designers in to make graphics and then take the one's he wants for free by declaring an invalid member of DP as the winner. I would advise everyone to add watermarks, etc on their designs so then it makes it harder for people like them to do something so innapropriate and selfish. And to say that people actually took a lot of time and effort to make those entries. And for what? =/
He couldn't have taken any of those graphics to use though...they are all general "Sitename" things. Guess he could have cut the character out of them, but that'd just be stupid :/ Probably just that he didn't find one he liked. Or that underdesign isn't the persons username on here but is rather their portfolio name or something like that.
if he didn't like any of the entries he could've just said so and that would've been fine.. or just disappear like lots of CHs do... but this thing with a made-up winner? and he made it very clear that underdesign was the guy's name. they were having imaginary conversations! ("underdesign says he'll be online tomorrow")
So, underdesign still could just be a pseudo-name that the person uses (but isn't their DP username for some reason, maybe it was thought up after making their DP account?) You don't know otherwise, no one does. So stop pointing fingers and do something constructive.
we now have postive proof: another DP user was able to trace dragos' blog and found this: that's one of the entries at the bottom.
yeah, he probably won't be using that profile to do business anytime soon. too bad he'll also probably just get another one.
Too bad its so easy to get new profiles on DP.. The BST section should be payed as Sitepont and we should get rid of some of these guys
