Last year I got PR3 for one of my sites from directory submissions alone. I am not sure I can repeat it this year.

Sorry won't share the URL here :)

Directories submission can help increase page rank because you can easily get one ways links through submitting your site's details. Though it has only little effect..

Yea, I've never really submitted to just directories either. I tend to do a wide range of things. Have you managed to get indexed in the major directories, i.e Yahoo, and Google?

There are a few quality directories worth submitting to.
    dir.yahoo.com
    dmoz
    business.com
    joeant
    BOTW

they all typically pass page rank and that is how you can get good PR with few links. Depends on your niche though.

In my knowledge yahoo directory has stopped passing pagerank and they are using redirected URLs now.

hmm, I still think is passes juice, but I guess the overall key is directory listing wont bring you buckets of traffic but it will get you some solid foundation for your link building campaign.

Yahoo still passes some pr, It entirely depends on what page you're listed on.

yea exactly make sure the page is indexed and then make a determination where your submission will lie, if its on page 30 of a highly competitive niche maybe that money is better spent somewhere else...but otherwise..
