So I have been looking at one of my sites that I spent a very long time working on and had many many pages index and ranking VERY well and getting good traffic, then all of the sudden I noticed traffic was stopped and each day google was removing more and more pages and I noticed this little gem at the bottom of the page. " In response to a complaint we received under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, we have removed 2 result(s) from this page. If you wish, you may read the DMCA complaint that caused the removal(s) at ChillingEffects.org." I look up my site at chillingeffects.org and it's not even there! There is no complain that comes up for my website! What the heck is Google doing? This is killing me, the site is 2 years old and have never had any issue, other than I probably upset some of the big industry players by outranking their 10yr old websites with good onpage/offpage optimization.
i would rather not give the link. but i will tell you this, it was my front page that got delisted which has over 800 targetted backlinks. and was highly optimized for my main keyword. was ranking #5 in google since Jan. I think a competitor may have filed a bogus form. But i wont know until chillingeffects.org finishes processing the complaint....however long that takes. But bottom line is, even if i do get reindexed my position I bet will be lost, in which case my competitors have won.
That's really bad, maybe some one complaint that your website is using copyrighted materials: text - images - video etc... so if you are using any stolen or copyrighted materials remove and request a reinclusion form in Google Webmasters tools, however do you still mind sharing the URL?
I can feel your pain. Seems like you must have spent alot of time on this site. Hope it gets sorted for you.
Man I would be spewing if this would be happening to me. You seem fairly calm though - do you get the feeling that maybe you Did do something wrong or you're 100% positive you've been generally whitehat with good ethics?
Someone must have filed a complaint against you. Remove all copyrighted materilas from your site and submit to Google for review.
Looks like you guys were right, as per his signature links (pcbytescorp.com), his site is using content from someone elses site. I did a search on Google and yourpcbytes.com came up as #3-5 on the first page and then on several other pages, looks like someone may indeed be using copyrighted materials. Not good, I've seen this way to many times to know where that may head. Best bet is to remove the content bud, then resubmit to Google and others. You wont be delisted for using your own content/graphics. Just don't use someone else's for profit/traffic. Good luck!
Yes you have been removed due to a DMCA complaint, however it's unusual because there's no details on the complaints page and no details in the database. I would check your junk folders to see if you have actually received a DMCA, and if not contact ChillingEffects.org for clarification because if they are going to remove you they "have" to provide details.
I think you might want to recheck all the materials in your site. See if you used any images or content from others. Delete them quickly to stop the spread, and ifthere is nothing wrong with it, sue all of them!!
well here's the situation. Apparently my old partner is trying to get me delisted. Here's the problem, he is claiming he is the copyright holder. But I have the corporation PC Bytes Corporation a registered corporation, as well I have all the works submitted with the US copyrights office since Jan 07. He does not have any copyright information. So to make a long story short, I will have to submit this info. What happened I originally owned yourpcbytes.com and it expired late 07 he snatched the domain up and i registered a new one. Oh well, live and learn.
