I started a streaming movie blog (see sig link) and I have gotten about 9k hits since I started my site at the beginning of this month. I have over 22k pageviews, but only 9k of them are unique. Is this any good for my first month? How can I monetize my blog?
It takes a while to get decent traffic coming in, and 9k uniques for your first month isn't too bad. You already have adsense running so you should be seeing a couple of dollars coming in with 9k uniques, if not then you could try messing around with the placement and colours etc.
9k your first month is just fantastic in my opinion. I am in my third month with several sites and have yet to get over a thousand with any of them. It seems like you could find some appropriate merchants to affiliate with to monetize the site - Netflix or something. Anyway, congratulations and keep up the good work. Traffic is the most difficult part for me. How did you get that much traffic in the first month? Thanks
You ad is against Adsense's TOS. If I was you I would get rid of those ads straight away. Personally I can't imagine that 9,000 is all that good for a site that is giving away movies. Just my opinion.
Hi, 9K is not bad.. You can get more traffic to your blog by submitting it to blog directories, Bookmarking sites, submitting videos on video sties and more. Regards, Anup
Here just a few traffic sources: - affiliate marketing - ad blasting - blog comments - banner exchanges - classified ads - Craigslist - directory submissions - eBay - Ezines - FFAs - forum marketing - Google Adwords - joint ventures - SEO - link swapping - list building services - MySpace
9000 isn't bad but keep in mind that you aren't going to be making any sort of money with 300 uniques a day. Either create a few other sites or reallllly work on improving this one. I found that my blog was getting about 9000 uniques in the first month, but only made about $5 in adsense. I definitely could have grown, but it was more worth it for me to just find a new avenue of income, as it was taking up to much time for too little potential. Just keep it in mind, and good luck!
