in my opinion, unless you want a site/page indexed fast or have something humorous, entertaining, political or universally appealing, social bookmarking isn't too effective.

 

many social bookmarking or social news site are now got "no follow" tags on meaning you
don't not gain much from increasing your SERP ranking much... I don't know why people are
still saying social bookmark gets backlinks... but they do get good traffic...
