The water for gas niche is oversatured and the ppc bids are really high.
Have you considered cancelling the water4gas campaign, and setting another one for a different niche, while choosing an affiliate product which sells well (gravity 40 to 100) but doesn't have too much competition.

Sellers in this niche are headed for some rough times. Organic traffic affiliates, such as myself, couldn't be happier. Less competition is always good.

Good affiliates adapt fast to changes. If you're good and you want to keep promoting this product, go to organic traffic methods. If not, there are lots of different niches.

I still remember the good old days, when I started promoting Water4Gas. The gravity was about 50 and I could advertise on the first page for under $0.3. Now it'll all organic, for everyone.

    Good luck,

gesh, that would have been a seriously profitable campaign.

Did you think it would ever become this big and competitive?

The oil companies are on google ass like a tight jeans on Brooke Shields...:)

I wonder if these 'complaints' were orchestrated by the oil companies and persons with interests in oil.

That campaign wasn't seriously profitable because I used direct linking (yes, I was the highest bidder for water4gas.com!), which didn't convert well. When I first created landing pages, they pretty much sucked (I have some copies of them, hidden deep inside my hard drive so no one will see). Then I got slapped and went organic.

You still can promote water4gas products, but with a bit different keywords.

For example, you cannot bid on "run your car on water", but let's say "water car" is allowed keyword.

There are many other keywords, which are related to water4gas and there are lots of ads on Google for them.

Guess you didnt got what that emails mean:rolleyes:...Google is not going to ban just the keywords they mentioned in the email, but any product being advertised on Adwords that claim to run a car on water.

Its not keyword specific, but niche specific. It will be the same thing of gambling/smoking/downloads sites that are not allowed to be advertised on google.

Probably google editors will be checking sites and remove all campaigns that are cought promoting these products.....

This will be a great opportunity for the smart affiliates....;)

    Hi,

I'm very disappointed about this google adwords policy decision. I was making $4.000/month with water4gas products and now I have to restart again with something else. I know i have to learn and search some other niche.

But for the moment do you think guys may I use my list of keywords to promote some other related product like "save money on gas"? Or maybe google disallows to use keywords like "water fuel"?

And when I have to stop my ads running? Maybe netx monday or do we have to wait google suspend all ads? And what if I let them running? Google will suspend only ads or they will suspend entire account as being in violation?

I don't know anything on organic traffic and I'd like to learn how to do it, do you think I can have some good result let's say in 1 month?

    Regards

Are you serious ?? You said 4000$ in the first post than you said 5000$ in the second.

Either way, that's a great achievement, I didn't know you make 4-5 times more than you invest with PPC.

Congratulations, that's a great achievement, is there any secret to your success, or you just choose a profitable not-too-saturated niche, choose the right keywords and make the appropriate ads ?

Thanks, water4gas was one of my first campaign in november '07.
What can I say, I think I've been lucky. Really no secret, I found the right keywords, some at $0.01 and more others at $0.04. I spent all the time trying to twike my work and I never started another cammpaign. I don't know if i'm gonna win again, but surely I will try.

Do you think after this experience I can try to compete in a saturated market like fatloss? After all, this watergas niche was saturated in the last period...

Yes, I think i will try your product next week, however I don't know what would be happen if people search "water fuel" and find "saveongas"...
I think they will click on organic links. But i will try.
