How do i know if a domain has any potential?

    Hello

    I guess the question that i am asking makes it fairly clear that I am new to the entire SEO community. I have a couple of ideas that seem to have a lot of potential. However, i was wondering if there are tools which can give me numbers as to the kind of traffic i can expect and the average number of times a particular keyword is searched for daily.

    Please help me out in this regard.

    Also a friend recommended SEO Elite4 but i couldn't make head or toe out of it. So please help.

    Exactly. Also, Google 'SEObook' they have a free keyword research tool for the # of searches for a given keyword

    Depends on budget.
    Key word in url is advantage for msn and Yahoo but not so much G. Problem with G is if your keyword is also your sitename most links are natually your anchor it will give a stepped link profile
    and actually discriminate against it with a young domain.

    every domain name has potential if you market it correctly and use keywords, unique content with regular updates, heck you could make SillyFoolishLawPolicies.com rank well for laptop repairs XD the domain name should be:
    simple to rememeber
    simple type in (kind of a pair really)
    shourt is always good
    usualy .com becuase people have a habit of using .com then .net i still do it now and have to type.net in after.

    thats my thoughts anyway
