hello everyone, can someone help me to understand meta or meta tags... it is very confusing for me.... pls... help me pls.......
I think these are to do with google finding keywords on your site, like what appears in the top of your loading screen in the tab, ie yourlocaltrades.co.uk has Find Vetted and Verified p.. in the blue tab but the whole lot appears at the top of the window on the black bar, google gets these and it helps with SEO (search engine optimization) Along the lines of the discription of your site anyway!! On the other hand, i could be talking complete nonsense as i pay someone to do all this for me!! I am sure others know and will correct my error!!
meta title - tells the search engine about what each page is about. For example - if you site is about winter widgets and your site's name was winterwidgets,com, you should insert the following content into your meta title: Winter Widgets - The Best Winter Widgets Online - Winterwidgets.com Meta Description content is basically used in order to entice users to click on your link on search engine results pages, and should tell users what each page is about. This will help you rank your site for important keywords (winter widgets) when people search for them.
