Yes. There's a way around that though....... If they go to differing pages of the same domain and from different (but still related close enough) categories, you should be okay. Still... if there's too many links in such a short amount of time you might get sandboxed.
i dont believe you'll get penalized as long as you build backlinks yourself and don't outsource it to somebody who will get you hundreds of irrelevant links in a few days. just make sure you build them steadily and try to get them from related sources, and be sure the sites are kosher and legal.
This is nonesense there is no penalty, if it were the case then sites like the New York times and other popular sites would all be in the google sandbox, because they get thousands of links per day. Google won't penalise you for something that in relaity you have no control over. They will however penalise you for linking to link farms and spam sites from your own site.
Google will reveal that your site is overwhelmed with links and it can use spam filter. Try to do SEO without obvious and traditional methods...
You can be filtered due to gaining a big amount of links in a very short time. It's more possible probable, when the domain is young. Sites like New York Times have a big trust rank, so they are resistant to gaining many links. good links are from trusted sites with relevant content and bad links are from spams ;0
I am going to agree with lightlysalted on this one. BH'ers get tens of thousands of links in one day and they do this on a regular basis. Their sites do get banned often, but the ban comes from having scraped, markov'd content or due to cloaking, or some other infraction. The point is, the links get them ranking, then when they are ranking well, they are caught doing other stuff. Lots of links quickly are fine and are a sign of a viral buzz spreading across the internet. Google loves that. Bompa
dont build links too fast no matter what anyone tells you, you're just asking for trouble if you do, ive had my sites penalized for getting too many links at once and it takes a little while for your rankings to come back (the first thing that happens is you lose your rankings for the page you got a bunch of links to) build links gradually over time ,the search engines are keeping track of how fast you build your links
Google will check the source of the links. Take the two cases below: A celebrity has an accident and the news agencies cover it. They get tons of links within hours, google surely knows its legitimate and will give more weightage, on the other hand, A newbie starts a new blog and tries and gets tons of links overnight, I'm sure this will be flagged . Hope this gives an insight to rapid link building ... /G
I don't think there's an automatic penalization for that (unless they all come from the same network of domains), it could raise a red flag, and they would have someone check it manually.
There have been some instances of penalities, however links are a very vague topic and there is a lot of fear in the industry and for no reason.....You have no control who links to your site...If lots of different sites link to you which are from different IP's/different domains etc, then this could be natural....If you get a massive amount of links in one week and they are all from the same IP and the same domain, then Google may take action....Although nobody knows....I know people who have been smart, and have gained a massive amount of backlinks from different sources in a month and not get penalised...If some people refer to getting penalities it is probably because they have been stupid and opted for thousands of links from the same domain...When looking at getting links, ensure you are clever...You can buy links but use sense......Don't go for these deals which state 10000 links for $5....It is obvious it is a cheap deal because the links wont show or will do harm.... The most important rule of the thumb though......USE COMMON SENSE!!! It is that simple
Hello, I would suggest you to add relevant (Related to topic of your website) links, slowly and gradually. Start adding maybe 1 a day initially, then increase them slowly and gradually. Many sites do not get banned or penalized as they are called trusted sites. Sites like CNN, NatGEo, these sites are trusted sites, even if they get 10K new links in a day, they are safe. But a new website starts building links overnight, is FLAGGED. The best way to understand what is good and bad. Try to think like a SE. Think is this site trying to make me fool by artificial link building techniques and you will get the answer. Thanks!
Too many links are not bad any way. But there should be some variation. Like some links should be from Directory submission, some should be from Article Submission, press release, Rss feed submission & some should be normal link exchange ( 3 way / 4 way ). This is what I believe. If any one differs with my idea, can come up with his/her idea. Because I love to learn.
Yes, obviously there are Bad links. Links from any Casino+Porn+Gambling+Medicine related sites will be regarded as Bad links by Google
