I smoke..I don't want to smoke anymore..I've tried the patch..i've tried the gum, inhaler, homeopathic stuff (which seems to put me to sleep for some reason)..I think I can get over the anxiety of it all, but after I finish a website or need a break from workin on the computer, I go outside to smoke..it's what I do..it's a hard habit to break..

So what did you do to quit smoking!?

Ya, if someone tells me to "just quit" 1 more time, i'm pretty sure I'll stab myself in the eye. I thought it was a known fact that it's just as hard (if not harder) to quit smoking as it is to quit heroin. It's just so second nature I guess..

Thanks about the icon action! lol..My dog just had six puppies, so thats one of them trying to chew up my glasses..hah..*imma nerrrrd*..

So ya..someone help us quit smoking now..0_o

One good technique is to have room mate or a spouse to do it with you. Someone to keep you accountable and vice versa. This only works if it's a person you're around long enough. I've been smoke free over a year using this method. My wife relapsed about 6 months ago, but I've resisted the urge. Even when I drink, I still don't smoke.

    well, i'm an ex-actual-ex-actual smoker.

The best thing to quit is just quitting.
From one day to another, just end up your day as a regular smoker and when you wake up, just don't do it anymore. Try some candies or bubblegum to eat when you want to smoke, the 1st 4 or 5 days are the harder, but after that you even start to hate the smoke smell...

Well I live with my girlfriend who I'm actually trying to convince to quit smoking with me, but she's not too anxious to quit..she wants to, but she's not as serious about it as I am. It's really hard to quit though when she's still smoking, but I'd like to live a while longer, and being able to breath in the morning would be nice..lol

Stay away from smokers at all costs.
    Chew gum.
Start working out, be it walking, running, biking, weight lifting. Do it hard and do it often. You'll get to the point you do NOT want to smoke.

I went from smoking 3-5 packs daily to quitting, NEVER to have another cigarette again 'as of yet.
    That was I believe 2 1/2 years ago ;)

I'm not sure if I can stay away from smokers at all costs, because my girlfriend will continue to smoke..BUT..I am starting to work out with a personal trainer come monday, SO..hopefully that will be good. I'd really like to quit before I have my first session with him..or I'll just feel retarded going to a personal trainer and saying "Make me healthier!! *Puffff Puff*"..0_o..just don't make sense..lol

Of course you wont be able to fully stay away, 'however' make every attempt in the beginning to stay away as often as possible from the actual smoke and or seeing, smelling the smoke/cigarette burning ;)

Those are good points. Everytime you want to smoke exercise at an intense level. If your at work, snack on a carrot. Replace a smoke with healthly lifestyle changes.

I did tons of intense cardio! You don't feel like a smoke after an hour or more of hitting the stationary bike full bore for the 2nd or 3rd time of the day! :D

I ordered this Homeopathic thing called 'endits"..I guess I'll see how that goes.

Do not think about smoking, try to forget it.Don't watch the fellows who are smoking.develop another habit instead of smoking,I also used to smoke,But now i diverted smoking to another habit.Whenever I need a break. I will watch the t.v,I don't think about going outside,If thinks going out side so i again starts.Try to quit smoke for 1 week, after that you automatically quits,Even if u feels it is hard to quit, then u can't quit smoke.

You can't quit smoke suddenly,it's very difficult,Try to quit slowly, suppose if you are smoking 3 packets daily ,then tommorrow 2 ,then day after tommorrow 1 pack, then next day 9 ,next 8,....next 4,next 3,next2,next1,next 0 next 0 infinity.

Ween off of it. Go from a pack, to half a pack, to 3 a day, to a puff here and there....thats how I quit....gradually decrease the amount you smoke.

I smoked a bare minimum of 3 packs, if I went out for the night it easily got to 5 packs. I was a HEAVY smoker, one after another.
    Yes you can

I also quit drinking totally for a bit as well ;)

I do drink occasionally now, but a fraction of what I used to.
