So basically macgoblin shouldn't have tried to run this C99, and even if he did your server SHOULD be secure enough for it not to matter. I am not excusing what he did, but maybe it is time you look in to securing your server.

What the hell is this? He was just testing your server that is it. He never did any damage. He tested our servers and I let him do it because I want him to feel secure with us. This thread should be closed because this is all bull****.

Uploading c99 is not a big thing. It has nothing to do with the server if it is secure.
For disabling almost all c99 features, just enable open_base protection as well as install mod_security with good set of rules.
ClamAV antivirus can detect c99 very easily.
Install ConfigServer Firewall and configure it to take Mod_sec log and block the IP instantly.

    This is what I do.

Absolutely nothing if your server is properly secured, right?

Remind me not to buy hosting from you.

Just a comment because our name is playing here.
We also give a trial account to the user and after he order a package.
However, through the paypal details is different from the register details(name/email) we refund the amount.
This does not mean that the user is hacker/abuser/etc
If he just test your server and saw that was insecure and does NOT distroy everything, then you are very lucky.
This kind of "good" hackers, must be given some kind of free hosting, etc for their tips.

Dont be so bad,he doesnt do any bad in your server, just check your security.
Finally,if you have your server secured and updated, why do you fear?

    Regards

First of all .. uploading c99 is not welcomed in anyway..

See guys who tried to defend that hacker.. Check what ZaxiHosting Worte.. he tried to order via possible fake paypal account.. ok lets believe that.. it was also.. a "security check of payment process of Zaxihosting" if you guys that if security is good in your server.. than no hacker can hack via c99? ok than give me trial account and i will show you!

i dont say if your security is good than c99 can destroy your server but yes it can get juicy information from your sites for sure.. like mysql login info and any info which is stored in files

This kind of behavior is unacceptable and those who are supporting him are idiots. He might be a part of a cracking community trying to filter out insecure servers for attacking. 'He's just trying to test it' is not an excuse at all.

Me too don't like these kind of "testers", whenever I found c99 scripts I just suspend the user, take backup of the account after removing c99, email the reseller and terminate the domain after 24hrs. No more excuses regarding hacking scripts.
