I know that people using adsense are not allowed to talk bad about Google, but everyone wonders if Google are living up to their motto "Don't be evil" in their adsense program. I think it is okay to discuss objectively about adsense in the world's perception, so assuming you are not using adsense, do you think adsense is good or evil? Think about what you give to adsense and what adsense give back to you. People who engaged in clicks exchange or self clicks need not reply as you won't gain the worlds favor anyway.
Adsense isn't good or bad. It's a business made on a poor business model where money moves around when value is not necessarily created.
Google Adsense clearly and simply is a business. Rating a business good or evil is crazy. The program is set up so that Google makes large amount of money and passes a small percentage on to publishers. It would be evil if you were required to put it on your site no matter what. You, as a webmaster have the choice to place ads or not. Some publishers have made a lot of money using Adsense. If making money is evil than I guess Adsense is evil. If enforcing rules to protect advertisers is evil than I guess Adsense is evil. Otherwise, it is good if it places money in your pocket.
You can't really rate a business like Adsense as 'good' or 'evil'. For those who get banned would probably think it's evil... but then again, how did they get banned in the first place? For those who do make a lot of money may most likely think that it's 'good'... So how do you decide it's 'good' or 'evil'...??
I think adsense has spawned a lot garbage websites. (aka mfa) I like to refer to this as web pollution or internet pollution. Don't we all just hate that spam out there? But we never really stop to think that the ways twe try to make money online were destroying the internet filling it with spam, and in the context any advertising mediums like Adsense are inhertently evil becuase of this. adsense is good in the sense that it allows intelligent people to make money from nothing. All you ever need is an internet connection and i hope internet connection are getting cheaper with time.
Well i like adsense. Like I said it requires internet connection. In developed countries internet connection are cheaper, maybe US$30 can give unlimited. In some countries you need to pay US$75 for unlimited. So as internet connection gets cheaper, I think adsense will become goodier.
