Hi folks, I just started a new PC support forum - http://helpwithmypc.org/ Do take a look and let me know how best to improve it. Thanks in advance.
welll the idea is good ,but not the implementation . i just can figure out why you have created so much forum categories. in my opinion a pc,support forum should only contain following basic categories . Hardware solutions, Software solutions, O.S section, gaming section( subforum :-consoles , pc ) internet section. & special open source section if u really want, & a offtopic section with introduction subforum .
yes because why should one use individual categories when u can combine few of them in a single one though u should add more categories as per the forum requirement & why dont u use PHPBB3 for forums It would be much better
well there are tons of superb phpbb themes are available not only that there are many good mod's available for it & it will be more friendly for administration of the forums. & if u can pay for a forums software then you can go with vbulletine original licensed copy.
dude i was sittin there waiting for images to load.. and it said done? it doesnt look good at all im afraid.
Way too many categories. Windows 95, and 98, with it's own category, at the top of the site? Not good IMO. Keep the popular stuff on the top. Get rid of some categories to simplify. Also, see about a more userfriendly forum theme. Good luck.
i should say that the site's loook is wacky and the no. of categories for a new forum should not be that much... Sorry I couldnt keep low
I'll be brutally honest and say I don't like it as it stands. 1) Nothing visually appealing about it at all, not even a logo 2) Use phBB, VBulletin or even myBB will allow you to have something resembling what a forum should look like. 3) Way too many categories, and realistically who wants to chat about Win 95 or 98 nowadays? Cut this right down to: - Hardware - Software & Operating Systems - The Internet & Networking - Security & Safety - Off Topic - Introductions When you start to see too much content, then think about splitting this up into sub-sections. Nobody wants to post on a forum if it takes them ages to locate where to post. HTH
