I don't know much about SEO, but this may be beginners luck, just wanted to brag a little. I just started this site 1 week ago!
You need to see if people search for the keyword plus needs to consider your website keyword match and title match.. I have a website 1st page for 2 letters which have over 40 billion results. Anyway goodluck..
Hey --- trust me, its too good to be true Same thing happened to me, after having the site for 1 week -- I ranked in the top 5 one day for Boston Real Estate.... with no backlinks, and no sitepages.. just a crappy homepage..... and then slowly drifted away now im in the 20's and sitting there solid......... now I have to build backlinks, etc. Google often times gives you a temporary boost at the beginning!
Yep, I agree with Dino. I was no I for my keyword on yahoo for weeks before i drop to the 3rd page but i am now back on page 1. I just never knew search engines pay so much attention to your domain name. They do guys, they do!!!!!!
As others said, its all well having high results for keywords, but do you make money out of it? Thats the big question.
It is always good to have a first page listing for any keyword string, but what matters is if you are going to get traffic from it. I have a site that is less than 2 weeks old and I have numerous 1st placings on google serps, but they are for keywords people use like once a day. Nice to look at but don't mean too much. Moral of the story pretty much any site out there can get page 1 ranking for a keyword in a matter of a day or so, but it typically means the keyword is not too popular or that google is just giving you a new site bump to test out how its traffic will respond to your site. Good luck and I hope your site is a great success.
My website is still 10th in Google for a 156,000,000 wordmatches query: http://www.google.com/search?q=affordable&sourceid=navclient-ff&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1B3GGGL_enBY222BY223 Low competition keywords are fun!
