I have read a lot of sandbox related articles from seo experts, i'm suffering sandbox nearly 8 months, after about 15 days will 8 months. The room of sandbox is really not a good party place, so many new sites are in there. I think many of new site owers want to know how long of sandbox, include me. So i post this thread to poll it, please submit your sandbox time to help all new site owers know about sandbox time.

My sandbox period was approximately 8-9 months. I think the key is to keep generating content and getting authority-quality links during this waiting period. Eventually, one day, your site will pop-up in the Google rankings as well as a commensurate increase in traffic.

Thanks for your reply. I hope it out as soon as possible, 8-9 months is really too long. I feel the sandbox time become more and more longer. May be spam site still increase fast, google have to extend it.

Based on about 100 websites all seem to have a harness released at about 9 months. However a nice 7 year old domain name.....can slice through the best 9 month old site in the serp

Maybe Google is operating on the Confucian principle of utter and total respect for elders (elder domains that is).. :) .....I sure can't make much sense out of it..

    It's easy
Principle is actually based on inbound link not really on the domain. Thus if a link was cahsed 5 years ago for "elder "domains" you have top trumps

I agree your opinion, the main factor is not the old domain, is inbound links. I have seen many of sites ranked very well with only one keywords display on their page, that shall the main domain have a lot of inbound links, i check yahoo, and it shows 20K. So i guess that the inbound links is the main factor to build google trust rank. But the old domain which haven't changed the domain owners will ranking very well, look digitalpoint.com, the threads are ranking on the top.

I've had several new sites do well in SERP and then get sandboxed within a couple weeks. Now, I generally buy domain names and then sit on them awhile as I work on my more established sites, then when I need a domain name to use, I just pull out one of the older ones that have been aged for awhile. If I do get kicked in the sandbox, I'm out within 30 days later.

Just over a month ... it requires high-PR relevant backlinks.

I would say between 9 and 12 months for sites with completely new domains. If the domain has been online for sometime and is linked in somewhere for a longer period of time I have seen sites go straight through the sand box with no problems at all. Domain age I think plays a huge part. I also see this becoming longer and longer and suggest to people even if you only have site ideas, to invest in domains put them online with a few pages and get a few backward links for them, then when you get to developing a real site the domain is already well in the system. I have learnt this the hard way if waiting and waiting on project ideas and then it just takes longer to get them running.
